AP Parigi, MD, ENIL, said that his company's total revenue is about Rs 490 crore. Ooh Media accounts for Rs 134 crore, he added. "Our 22 radio stations from Kolhapur to Solapur to Madurai to Coimbatore have broken-even in the last quarter and in this financial year itself they will get profitable; the revenues had been very significant," he added.

Excerpts from CNBC-TV18’s exclusive interview with AP Parigi:

Q: What’s been the contribution of Ooh Media in your revenues?

A: In terms of the total revenue is about Rs 490 crore. Ooh Media accounts for Rs 134 crore and there has been obviously a stupendous growth because the base was just Rs 32 crore last year, and what is equally interesting is, just in Q4 of FY08, Ooh Media is moved from Rs 16 crore to Rs 46 crore. Everything seems very exciting. India’s GDP is finally telling and of course the Directors, Live Cast and the Managers take credit for it but the Indian GDP has percolated down to the towns. Our 22 radio stations from Kolhapur to Solapur to Madurai to Coimbatore have broken-even in the last quarter and in this financial year itself they will get profitable; the revenues had been very significant.

Q: What sort of a topline can we expect from you in the next fiscal year?

A: We will have very robust growth.

Q: Could you put any numbers to that?

A: I don’t give guidance but you will be really delighted to see the numbers as we look forward.

Q: What are the TRAI recommendations - permission to air news and current affairs on radio channels and increase in FTI and all of that - what set of a revenue accretion that you would be looking at taking into account all these new recommendations.

A: There are three things that have come to our mind. One is the FDI which everyone seems to be obsessed with - FDI are no FDI, whether Indian bank funds or a foreign company funds, radio will now choreograph the entertainment industry - the critical explosion has taken and in terms of specific recommendations; the news and current affairs will increase the stickiness of the existing and future listenership and in terms of growth revenues and profitability, the Phase Three which is the best example of public private partnership, if the last 4 years, there will be far more greater stations in Phase 3, as you know phase 2 and phase 3 are being combined and I expect a couple of hundred new radio stations to get licensed as per the indications given.

Q: So how many more radio stations are coming from your side?

A: From the Radio Mirchi side, we will participate aggressively and we believe that today we have a 48% to 49% of market share, our listener ships in Bombay, Delhi, Bangalore, we are the number one, and we will definitely participate to consolidate our position and we will keep pushing.

Q: Two more radio stations, three more, a ball park figure?

A: Much larger than that, much larger than 2-4-5-6 or 8.
