AMW manufactures medium-sized and heavy commercial vehicles for appliance in industries such as shipping, mining, steel, oil & gas, power and logistics. The company currently enjoys a market share of 90% in the 49-tonne truck segment. AMW’s vehicles have gained popularity and repute in 25-tonne truck segment which typically caters to industries like logistics, mining and construction. The company is now planning to move deeper into the Indian market by introducing new products in trucks and tractors, besides ensuring that the existing products more freely available to untapped territories. The appointment of Aditya Motors in Navi Mumbai is a step ahead in this direction. Mr. V R B Krishnamurthy, Chairman & Managing Director, Aditya Motors said, “We are extremely pleased to be associated with Asia MotorWorks and confident that this association will benefit the customers in the region”. AMW has progressively grown in the Indian market in a short span of three years and now is planning to tap Mumbai – the country’s biggest heavy commercial vehicles market, which records annual sales of approximately 15000 units. The metropolis is the gateway for inbound and outbound movement of goods for the country. Besides, the Mumbai region is the largest corridor for transportation of motor and other fuels given the operations of oil companies like BPCL, Indian Oil and HPCL who manage their fleet from the Mumbai Region.
