If one looks at the category returns, there have been losses somewhere between 1.5% to 6.4%, last week. The biggest losers have been funds from the auto sector, the reason being the monthly performance in auto wasn’t too great and a lot of banks had raised their prime lending rates on auto loans.

Out of the 208 funds, all of them fell last week. But the silver lining has been that 54 funds fell less than Sensex, which declined 2.5% last week. 154 funds fell more than the Sensex.

The top loser was the ABN AMRO Future Leaders, which fell 8.4%. AIG World Gold Fund was the top gainer and rose 2.2%. Banking Funds were hit badly - Reliance Banking ETF fell 4.2%, while Banking BeES ((Benchmark Exchange Traded Scheme) dropped 4.1%. The reason was the same - lot of banks had raised their prime lending rates.
