Indian ADRs: Satyam, Patni up over 6%; ICICI gains 3.4%

US markets ended the session on a mixed note. Technology companies' earnings were disappointing for markets whereas financial stocks reported better than expected results. Oil dropped further, which also gave some relief. The Dow gained 49.91 points, or 0.44%, to 11,496.57. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.36, or 0.03%, to 1,260.68, and the Nasdaq composite index lost 29.52 points, or 1.28%, to 2,282.78. Indian ADRs ended mixed. Stocks of technology companies tumbled; Infosys fell by USD 1.32 or 3.32% to close at USD 38.42, Satyam down USD 1.42 or 6.05% at USD 22.04, Wipro down USD 0.3 or 2.7% at USD 10.81 and Patni Computer dropped USD 0.77 or 6.68% at USD 10.81. Metal and auto stocks also lost ground. Sterlite was down 0.57% at USD 13.92 and Tata Motors fell 0.89% at USD 10.02. Banking stocks gained; ICICI Bank was up USD 0.98% or 3.38% at USD 30 and HDFC Bank rose USD 1.45 or 1.92% at USD 77. In the pharma space, Dr Reddy's Labs rose USD 0.20 or 1.27% at USD 15.90. Telecom stocks ended mixed. MTNL was down 2.16% at USD 4.52 while Tata Communication up 2.06% at USD 19.30. A look at how the Indian ADRs performed:
