Post buy-out of Citigroup's 23 per cent stake in Progeon for Rs 518 crore, Infosys Technologies Ltd has renamed its BPO outfit as Infosys BPO Ltd, effective August 29.

"The new name accurately reflects our heritage and line of business," said Mr Amitabh Chaudhry, CEO and Managing Director, Infosys BPO Ltd, in a press release.

"Our customers, employees, partners, and other stakeholders have always known us to be an integral part of the Infosys group. The new name simply reinforces that message".

Infosys BPO Ltd is a subsidiary of Infosys Technologies Ltd.

Infosys has provided a FY07 revenue guidance of $125 million for its BPO outfit. Progeon reported a net profit of Rs 20 crore on revenues of Rs 127.8 crore for Q1FY07.
