Obviously, it had come down because of fear that Citi may sell its holdings in HDFC and after Parekh has clarified that Pandit has assured it will not be sold there is no cause for it to fall. It willl certainly cross Rs 1500. If it comes below Rs 1000, one can blindly buy as its investments alone can be better than some of the best NBFCs. Even if Citi sells its holdings in HDFC, I am sure there will be some institutions willing to buy at very attractive price above Rs 1500 and present holders need not worry.

People are discussing it below 1000 and it is going up and up. Ofcourse may be due to shortcovering or waiting for announcement abt interest rates to cut.
For traders it is require now at what level it go up to short. As every stock acting to index now, every stock will fall as much as HDFC falls when index falls.

HDFC came down on the fear that Citi would sell its holding in HDFC and when Parekh clarified after consultig Pandit of Citi that Citi would not sell its holding in HDFC, it started moving up. This is simple. But to presume that HDFC would come down below Rs 1000, it is far stretched. Even if Citi were to sell its holding I am sure there would be lot of buyers at much higher price and those who have analysed its investment portfolio would be shocked to find that it is much stronger than many NBFCs. Its merger with HDFC bank would lead to a stronger bank...

Real estate and infrastructure stocks are the worst hit losing as high as 90 % of their peak values; The bounce back whenever it happens will be quick but short lived, as many investors who are trapped will try to exit; In two years time this stock should do well in line with the recovery of the sectoral leaders; Recovery to 125 to 150 should happen during the next intermediate pull back; You may exit and switch over to good front liners like Infosys,ONGC, HDFC Bank, SBI.
