Omaxe surged after the company said a wholly owned subsidiary has received a letter of intent for construction of a medical college and a hospital at Saharanpur in Uttar Pradsh..
The company made this announcement after trading hours on Friday, 22 August 2008.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 264.04 points, or 1.83%, to 14,665.53.
On BSE, 1,514 shares were traded in the counter. The scrip had an average daily volume of 1.07 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 128 and a low of Rs 124 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 613 on 13 December 2007 and a 52-week low of Rs 111 on 2 July 2008.
The company has an equity capital of Rs 173.57 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
The current price of Rs 128 discounts its Q1 June 2008 annualised EPS of Rs 10.72, by a PE multiple of 11.94.
Omaxe’s net profit fell 14.5% to Rs 46.53 crore on 12.9% increase in net sales to Rs 288.84 crore in Q1 June 2008 over Q1 June 2007.
Omaxe is a real-estate development and construction company. The company focuses on developing residential and commercial real-estate projects ranging from integrated townships, group housing and retail and other commercial properties, hotels, information technology and bio-tech parks to special economic zones (SEZ).

Omaxe Ltd has informed BSE that the Company had availed a term facility of Rs 3,00,00,00,000/- (Rupees Three Hundred Crores) from Indiabulls Financial Services Ltd on December 04, 2007 for a period of three years. For this purpose, M/s. Constellation Capital Ltd, one of the promoters of the Company had pledged 2,50,58,000 (Two Crores Fifty Lacs Fifty Eight Thousand only) Equity Shares of the Company as collateral security with Indiabulls Financial Services Ltd. It is certainly something to take note of if one is buying for long term. But if one is buying based on news or information, and for short term, these things are not as important....

I was recently going through the AGM details of omaxe and was really surprised to see some Mr. Goel getting big pay checks as salary. The basic salary is 40 lacs per month..yes per month. Add to that the HRA, houses, cars, clubs, travelling, insurance etc. Well above 1 crore per month.
And top that with dividends.
I wonder if investors consider such things while buying a stock.

Latest company financials are not great. However with little public holding it is easy to take this stock up in a bull rally, and there is certainly operator interest in such stocks. I would advise you to hold....
