Google has come up with a way to stop people sending embarrassing e-mails when they are DRUNK - Mail Goggles.

Gmail engineer Jon Perlow wanted to come up with a system to stop people sending messages they might regret in the morning when they have sobered up.

The Google Goggles make somebody solve some easy maths problems before allowing them to send a message.

If they cannot solve the problem, then they will not be allowed to send mail.

Mail Goggles, currently in a testing phase, can be activated by Gmail users clicking `Settings; at the top of a Gmail page and then going to the `Labs` section.

Writing on a Google blog, Mr Perlow said: "Sometimes I send messages I shouldn`t send. Like the time I told that girl I had a crush on her over text message. Or the time I sent that late night email to my ex-girlfriend that we should get back together.

"When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you`re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you`re in the right state of mind?"

The facility is only available late at night or at weekends - the time that Mr Perlow believes people are likely to want to use it.

Breastfeeding may help reduce risk of aggressive cancer: study

Breastfeeding for at least six months may help reduce a woman`s risk of an aggressive form of breast cancer, according to a study that explored how reproductive factors influence different types of breast cancer.

In the aggressive "triple negative" breast cancer, tumours do not respond to a key regulatory protein called HER2 or to the hormones estrogen and progestin.

Because of that, hormone-based treatments are of little help for triple negative breast cancers, which is more common among younger women. Previous studies have found women with triple negative cancer are more likely to have a relapse.

The latest study looked for patterns among women with three types of breast cancer:

Estrogen-sensitive, also called luminal — the majority of breast cancers that tend to grow slowly.
HER-2 positive — cancers that grow rapidly and tend to have poor prognosis, but can often be treated successfully with Herceptin, according to the American Cancer Society.
Triple negatives.
In the Oct. 1 issue of the journal Cancer, Amanda Phipps, of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and her colleagues found triple-negative breast cancer was half as common among women who said they breastfed for six months or more compared with women who hadn`t breastfed.

Estrogen-sensitive or luminal breast cancers were also 20 per cent less common among those who breast fed, the researchers said.

"Our data do support the premise that risk factor profiles vary by breast cancer subtype and that hormonal risk factors have a greater impact on luminal-type breast cancers than HER 2-overexpressing or triple-negative tumors," the researchers said.

Hormone exposure
Until recently, researchers have grouped breast cancer subtypes together when looking for risk factors, but that could miss those found in only certain types.

To help fill this gap, Phipps`s team looked at how reproductive factors such as breastfeeding and age of first menstruation and menopause influenced subtypes of breast cancer.

Starting to menstruate before age 13 was linked to a higher risk of HER2 breast cancer, the researchers found.

Entering menopause late, after age 55, and taking estrogen-plus-progesterone hormone therapy were linked to risk of estrogen-sensitive breast cancer.

The study involved women ages 55 to 79 and included 1,023 cases of luminal breast cancer, 39 cases of HER 2-overexpressing breast cancer, 78 cases of triple-negative disease, and 1,476 controls.

Such an observational study does not prove that breastfeeding helps prevent cancer or that not doing so increases the risk. The small number of triple-negative and HER-2 cases also limits the researchers` ability to draw conclusions, and it is possible that some subtypes were misclassified.

Researchers have speculated that since women don`t menstruate while breastfeeding, they are exposed to fewer hormones. Another possibility is that the structure of breast cells change during breastfeeding, making them less susceptible to mutate.

Lansinoh Laboratories Secures Number One Position in Breastfeeding Accessories

Already the Leader in Breast Creams, Company Makes Gains in Three Other Segments of Natural Feeding Category

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct 07, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lansinoh Laboratories, a leading marketer of premium products for breastfeeding mothers and babies, has always been the number one manufacturer of breast cream with its high quality Lansinoh(R) HPA(R) Lanolin, the leading topical in its segment. This product has helped establish the "natural feeding" category, which has grown to a segment of interest at drug and mass retailers alike. Within this category, the Company is also the current segment leader in disposable nursing pads and breastmilk storage bags, positions formerly held by major baby product manufacturers.
Lansinoh`s dominance in the cream segment is well known; perhaps less known is that the Company secured the number one position in nursing pads from Johnson & Johnson approximately four years ago, and continues to grow steadily. More recently, Lansinoh surpassed Gerber to become the leading seller of breastmilk storage bags.
In addition to its dominance in key segments of the natural feeding category, Lansinoh`s innovative new product development is responsible for creation of new market segments as well. Its introduction of the popular, number-one selling Lansinoh Clean & Condition Cloths, for example, created the breastfed baby wipes segment, which has since attracted major baby product manufacturers, such as Playtex, to the category.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends women breastfeed exclusively for six months and for 12 months with complementary foods. More than 75 percent of women leave the hospital breastfeeding, however, even with the best intentions, many new mothers discontinue breastfeeding after the first few months. Lansinoh continues to innovate and provide products and resources that help moms continue breastfeeding for the recommended 12 months.
Adding to its line of breastfeeding accessories, the Company launched a line of breast pumps with its introduction of the Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pump (2006) and the Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump (2007). The Company also introduced its Lansinoh Diaper Rash Ointment (2008) containing a unique blend of ingredients, including the Company`s proprietary HPA(R) Lanolin, offering triple protection for baby`s skin.
Lansinoh Laboratories is a leading international marketer of premium products that support breastfeeding mothers and their babies. The Company`s distribution strength brings its products to consumers around the world, including North America, the United Kingdom, Germany and Western Europe. Founded in 1984 by a breastfeeding mother, Lansinoh is committed to developing new products that support mothers, babies and personal health, through internal new product development and selective acquisitions. Lansinoh`s line of breastfeeding accessories and baby products are sold through every major retailer throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Jolie breast-feeding photo: triumph or trouble?

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A magazine cover photo of Angelina Jolie breast-feeding one of her newborn twins may have turned the superstar actress into a role model for new mothers.

The photo, taken by Jolie`s partner Brad Pitt, will adorn the November issue of W magazine. Other family pictures taken by Pitt in the weeks after the birth in July of twins Vivienne Marcheline and Leon Knox will appear inside.

"I think it is fabulous. Seeing a celebrity like Angelina Jolie breast-feed can be a role model to encourage women to make a choice that is wonderful for their baby," said Andi Silverman, mom of two and author of "Mama Knows Breast."

"Breasts are used to sell all sorts of products, so to see them used the way nature intended can only be a great thing," Silverman told Reuters.

But while breast-feeding support groups and moms celebrated Jolie`s public statement, one expert said the picture felt like voyeurism, especially given Jolie`s xxx symbol status in movies like "Wanted" and "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider".

About 70 percent of American mothers breast-feed their newborns but the rate falls dramatically after six months, according to official figures.

Jolie, 33, is not the first celebrity to be photographed nursing her baby. Model Jerry Hall appeared on the pages of Vanity Fair in 1991 breast-feeding Gabriel, her son with Mick Jagger.

But that was a generation ago, and Jolie`s global influence as a style-setter and through her humanitarian travels and support of kids in third world countries, ensured the impact of the photo of her special moments with her baby.

"The response from moms we have seen is that if someone as popular, beautiful and together as Angelina is breast-feeding her children, it inspires other women to do so themselves," said Dr Shannon Fox, a psychotherapist with the Momlogic . com website.

Little is seen in the picture of the act of breast-feeding. It shows Jolie smiling, while a tiny hand is just visible at bottom of the frame.

But Fox said the cover photo sends a second message.

"The problem is that she is also an international xxx symbol. So whether or not she says `This is a beautiful way of nurturing my baby`, every man who sees that photo will see those breasts as xxxual."

La Leche League International, the world`s oldest breast-feeding support organization, said the photo was particularly welcome as Jolie has twins.

"Mothers of twins report it takes a lot of time, effort and physical energy to breast-feed. I think the picture is beautiful," said La Leche League International spokeswoman Jane Krouse.

Breastfeeding `perfectly natural`

Yet some folks still find mothering too personal an act for public consumption

EDMONTON - Jennifer Hancock sees nothing wrong or shameful about breastfeeding in public. She remembers once sitting second row at a funeral when she had to discreetly slip out her breast and feed her baby.

"It never occurred to me that I shouldn`t do it," Hancock said matter-of-factly. "I think people would rather me breast-feed than have my baby kicking and screaming at a funeral." On Saturday, she and her six-month-old baby, Canaan, participated in the Global Breastfeeding Challenge 2008, a worldwide event designed to raise awareness of breastfeeding.

Now in its eighth year, the competition challenges mothers everywhere to gather and breastfeed simultaneously, competing to see which city can boast the most babies "latched on" at exactly 11 a.m. local time.

Participating women hail from countries as far away as Russia or Japan. Last year, more than 5,300 babies were counted from 35 different regions.

On Saturday, 27 Edmonton moms showed up at West Edmonton Mall to breastfeed their 30 babies and toddlers. Some mothers even fed two at a time. Hancock said she wanted to do the challenge to "show the normalcy of breastfeeding." She feels society has lost touch with the idea that breastfeeding is a perfectly natural and healthy thing to do. "I think in our society, people see breasts as selling cars," said the mother of two.

"You don`t see people breastfeeding often in mainstream culture." Public breastfeeding has a knack for stirring up controversy. This month`s cover of W Magazine is raising eyebrows with a photograph taken by Brad Pitt of Angelina Jolie breastfeeding one of their twins.

And in August, 60 women breastfed in a Vancouver H&M store to protest an incident in which staff asked a customer to breastfeed in a change room.

Lee-Ann Grenier arrived for the Edmonton challenge with her two children, 22-month-old Danica and her five-year-old boy, Zale.

Her son doesn`t breastfeed often anymore but on Saturday, Grenier fed both her children while sitting crosslegged on the floor in front of the HMV store.

"I feel it`s really important to support breastfeeding and its visibility in our community," she said. "It`s the one way that I know I`m meeting my children`s needs for security, as well as for food." Grenier remembers once breastfeeding Zale at a swimming pool when he was nine months old and being asked to leave. A woman told Grenier she was being indecent.

"I felt really stigmatized," she said. "I didn`t feel like I was feeding my baby. I felt like I was doing something slutty." But for shopper and passerby Nicole Vander Lugt, 25, the idea of public breastfeeding makes her uncomfortable. She has no children of her own yet but said that "for the sake of modesty," she would never consider breastfeeding in a public space.

"That bothers me," she said. "Not when you`re in the food court. Go find a corner or something and do it there." Her friend Paul McBeth added that although breastfeeding is a natural and often necessary act, some things in life are just meant to be private.

"If you had to administer medication, like stick a needle in your a, you wouldn`t do that in a food court," he said.

This year`s challenge in Edmonton was sponsored by a local breastfeeding group called BLISS. Founder Karen Speed said she hopes to dismantle attitudes that breastfeeding is taboo in public places.

"It`s kind of hard to even make breastfeeding normal in a society that sees breasts as xxxual," said Speed, who participated in the event with her four-month-old daughter, Briar. "When you`re using your breasts for breastfeeding, you`re feeding your babies. That`s what they`re made for."

SINGLE-HANDEDLY, Angelina Jolie has made motherhood very desirable.

A photo taken by partner Brad Pitt of the stunning mother of twins Vivienne and Knox has made the cover of a magazine and it will do for breastfeeding what Michael Jackson did for soft drink maker PEPSI.

Everyone will want to do it.

Apart from the fact breastfeeding is best, women will appreciate that while they may not be as beautiful as Jolie or live with a bloke like Pitt, breastfeeding is something they could have in common.

I never thought I would say this, but Jolie, 33, should be a spokesperson for motherhood.

She sensibly took a reasonable amount of time - in Hollywood terms at least - to shed her pregnancy kilos.

And, if it is true she suffered post-natal depression after the birth of her children three months ago and has the courage to talk publicly about it, she will become the pin-up of every woman struggling to cope after childbirth.

Despite myself, I like Jolie. I don`t want to because she has so much - the looks, the career, the fame, the bloke and I did worry she was adopting babies willy-nilly in the past.

But that photo of her breastfeeding her baby was genuine and warm. Then she tops if off by crediting her family for her happiness and it doesn`t read like some sort of celebrity fairy-floss.

In an interview with W magazine, Jolie reveals she never wanted to give birth or have biological children until she met Pitt. She says it was his love and acceptance of her adopted children that made her change her mind.

"I`m with a man who`s evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful because of the journey it has taken and what it has created," she says.

It takes a mature woman to reveal that about her partner and to boast she is happiest just being a mum.

"I`m very grounded by my family. I`m very happy and I`m so lucky," she says.

Jolie has grown up.

Oxygen-poor oceans :

Oxygen, one of the essential elements for most of life on Earth, has become increasingly scarce across large expanses of the tropical oceans over the past half century. A new study, based on real-world observations, supports the predictions of climate models that the ocean will become oxygen-depleted as a consequence of global warming.

Oxygen depletion is likely to worsen in the tropical oceans as temperatures rise, creating large `underwater deserts`. This could decrease the survival of large mobile marine species such as tuna and could disrupt nutrient cycles in the tropical oceans, reducing the productivity of entire marine ecosystems.

Moony facts of origin of Moon
%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%.%

The surface of the Moon has two hemispheres with rather asymmetric properties; as a consequence the nature of the Lunar surface that we can see from the Earth is substantially different from the surface that is always hidden from the Earth.

The Near Side :
The face of the Moon turned toward us is termed the near side. It is divided into light areas called the Lunar Highlands and darker areas called Maria (literally, "seas"; the singular is Mare). The Maria are lower in altitude than the Highlands, but there is no water on the Moon so they are not literally seas (Recent evidence from the Clementine spacecraft suggests that there may be some water on the Moon, contrary to previous assumptions). The dark material filling the Maria is actually dark, solidified lava from earlier periods of Lunar volcanism. Both the Maria and the Highlands exhibit large craters that are the result of meteor impacts. There are many more such impact craters in the Highlands.

The Far Side :
The side of the Moon unseen from the Earth is called the far side. One of the discoveries of the first Lunar orbiters is that the far side has a very different appearance than the near side. In particular, there are almost no Maria on the far side, as illustrated in the image shown to the left of a portion of the far side surface. In this figure a number of meteor impact craters are visible.

The bulk density of the Moon is 3.4 g/cc, which is comparable to that of (volcanic) basaltic lavas on the Earth (however, the bulk density of the Earth is 5.5 g/cc, because of the dense iron/nickel core). The Moon is coverered with a gently rolling layer of powdery soil with scattered rocks that is called the regolith; it is made from debris blasted out of the Lunar craters by the meteor impacts that created them. Each well-preserved Lunar crater is surrounded by a sheet of ejected material called the ejecta blanket.

India is a country gave shelter to many refugees
When Religions starts converting others by lure of favors and distributing obscene pamphlets, killing sadhus

Then the hardcore take over

They degrade the faith of Hindus and name calling
I have one question to them
How can a virgin give birth?
If they can believe that
Why Hindus cannot believe what they want?

What made Hindus angry in Karnataka

François GautierFirst Published : 06 Oct 2008 02:12:00 AM ISTLast Updated : 06 Oct 2008 07:40:54 AM ISTI WAS born in a Catholic family. My uncle was a priest, a wonderful man of warmth and compassion and I spent most my early years in Catholic boarding schools. When I was young I wanted to become a missionary and to ‘convert’ pagans in Asia. What I was taught by priests was that Hindus worship false gods and they needed to be brought back to the True Word by Jesus Christ.

Then of course, I came to India and discovered that actually Hindus, far from being the heathens, as had been portrayed in Europe, not only believed God’s diversity, the wonderful concept of avatar, but had given refuge to all persecuted minorities of the world, whether the Syrian Christians, the Parsis, the Jews (India is the only country in the world where Jews were not persecuted), the Armenians, or today the Tibetans.

I am also aghast at the one-sided coverage by the Indian media of the Christian- Hindu problem: blasts after blasts have killed hundreds of innocent Hindus in Varanasi, Delhi, Mumbai train blasts, Jaipur, etc. Yet, neither Manmohan Singh nor Sonia Gandhi have pronounced once the word ‘Islamic terrorism.’ But when furious Hindus, tired of being made fun of, of witnessing their brothers and sisters converted by financials traps, of seeing a 84-year-old swami and his Mataji brutally murdered, of reading blasphemy about their Gods, vent their anger against churches, many of them makeshifts, the Indian government goes after the soft target which the Hindus are. The same thing applies to the United States: they never warned Muslim organisations in India about the killing of Hindus, but when dollars are used to buy new converts and it angers the majority community of India,Washington has the arrogance to issue a warning, and Manmohan Singh does not have the pride to tell the US to mind its own business.

Neither the Indian press nor the western correspondents bothered to write about what made Hindus angry in Karnataka: Newlife, one important westernfunded missionary centre ( http://www.newlifevoice.org), began making conversions in and around Mangalore by accosting poor people in market areas, or in bus stands, befriending them and then taking them to churches to introduce them to the father.

Upon introduction they were paid Rs 2,500 per person and then taken to the Velankanni shrine, in Tamil Nadu, where they would get another Rs. 3,000.

When they finally converted to Christianity by changing the name, they got an incentive of Rs 10,000 onwards.

Newlife would then give them instructions to abandon wearing tilak on forehead, not to visit and offer prayers at the Hindu temples, replacing the photos and idols of Hindu gods and goddesses with a Cross, etc.

But what really angered local Hindus was when Newlife went one step further and published a book in Kannada — Satya Darshini — which was widely distributed by its missionaries. Here below is the translation of some of the most abusive passages: “Urvashi — the daughter of Lord Vishnu — is a prostitute.

Vashistha is the son of this prostitute.

He in turn married his own Mother. Such a degraded person is the Guru of the Hindu God Rama. (page 48).

When Krishna himself is wallowing in darkness of hell, how can he enlighten others? Since Krishna himself is a shady character, there is a need for us to liberate his misled followers (page 50). It was Brahma himself who kidnapped Sita.

“Since Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva were themselves victims of lust, it is a sin to consider them as Gods. (page 39).

When the Trinity of Hinduism (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are consumed by lust and anger, how can they liberate others? The projection of them as Gods is nothing but a joke. (page 39). God, please liberate the sinful people of India who are worshipping False Gods. (Page 39).” When blasphemy and much worse is brought against the most sacred Hindu Gods, Hindus are supposed to take it meekly as sheep and let themselves be converted to a foreign religion! There are more than 4,000 foreign Christian missionaries involved in conversion activities across different states.

In Tripura, there were no Christians at the time of independence. There are 1,20,000 today, a 90 per cent increase since 1991. The figures are even more striking in Arunachal Pradesh, where there were only 1,710 Christians in 1961, but 1.2 million today, as well as 780 churches! In Andhra Pradesh, churches are coming up every day in far-flung villages and there was even an attempt to set up one near Tirupati.

Christians throughout the ages have strived on the concept of persecution and as a brought up Catholic, I remember feeling bad about all those martyred saints of Christianity. Christians in India like to say that they are only two per cent and can do no harm. But it is a sham: in the Tamil Nadu coastal belt from Chennai to Kanyakumari, there must be now 10 per cent Christians posttsunami and the same may be true in other parts of south India.

My heart goes out to Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa who took a courageous stand against unethical Christian conversions, but is now under pressure from the Centre.

The BJP, having learnt from bitter experience that the Congress has no qualm in invoking President’s rule under fallacious pretexts in states which are ruled by non-Congress governments is in a quandary: it must show some action against militant Hindu groups while remaining true to itself.

This is why Yeddyurappa took some action against Hindu groups while saying that his government will not tolerate forcible conversions and will take stringent action against missionaries involved in conversions.

And ultimately, the blame must fall on Hindus: they are 800 million in India, the overwhelming majority; they have the brains, they have the money and they have the power. But either their intellectual and political class sides with the minorities, out of fear, inferiority complex imbedded by the British or just sheer crass political opportunism, or the bigger mass is indifferent inert, selfish, un-civic conscious. Every Hindu is the inheritor of the only surviving spiritual knowledge which at the moment is under a concerted attack by Christian missionaries, Americanisation, Marxism and Islamic fundamentalism.

Nagaland in India tops the list with 90% christians and next comes Mizoram with 87% christians to the total population. Meghalaya has 71% ,Manipur has 35% and Arunachal 19% christian population. With these the missionaries have succeeded to a large extent in caputuring the entire north eastern region. But because of great Hindu saints like Vivekanand and Ramkrishna Paramahamsa the nearer state West bengal soil do not see any significant conversion and the state has only 0.64% christian population.
And the other two states which have significant christian population are Goa 27% and Andaman Nicobar 22%....
