chchch-Are they wasting the Banks Money by having these 5 Star parties??Imagine the Audit Committee decided to waste money in 5 Star de-luxe hotel!!It would have cost them nothing to have held the meetings at the headquarters of the PSU banks!!They are wasting Publics Money!! ...

chief_kamani, Audit Committee and Management Committes of various nationalised banks are sub-committees of the Board of Directors. Normally, meetings of Board of Directors and the various sub-committees constituted by the Board should be held at the headquarters of the concerned banks only and, only, on occasions should they be held outside. Invariably, by virtue of nomination of Govt. officials / RBI officials on the Boards of various nationalised banks, these officials consider (unofficially) themselves as one above the rest of the members of the Board, and demand that the meetings be held at locations other than headquarters of the PSU banks which causes huge avoidable expenditure. These Govt./RBI nominees also dictate the date of meetings to suit their needs. Otherwise, the Govt. has strict guidelines in regard to travel by top executives, e.g. all top officials should not travel by the same flight, atleast one or two top officials should always be at the headquarters etc.

r_bbsr-That means there is Panic!!All these incidents are bound to reflect on the prices!!And dont forget NPA`s will rise next year!!Next time the audit meet might take place in some cheap hall to save costs!!

18-hour ordeal for Andhra Bank top brass
Mumbai: Two Directors and two General Managers of Andhra Bank were trapped in their rooms for nearly 18 hours as terrorists ran amok in the South Mumbai five-star Hotel Trident at Nariman Point late Wednesday evening.
IT firms beef up security in campuses
The Directors –V.H. Ramakrishnan and Madhusudan Prasad – and the General Managers –S Suryanarayana and S Prabhakar Reddy – had checked into the hotel late Wednesday evening to attend meetings of the Audit Committee of the Board (ACB) and the Management Committee Meeting (MCM) scheduled for next day morning.
‘Markets always bounce back after attacks’
The bank’s Chairman & Managing Director, R.S. Reddy, and Executive Director, Anil Girotra, were to fly into the city from Hyderabad early today to attend the meetings but aborted the trip after the news of the attack.
Terror-hit Mumbai comes to a standstill
The bank directors and top management team officials were occupying rooms on the 23rd, 24th and 25th floors while the terrorists were holed up on the 19th floor.

The officials managed to come out unscathed along with other hotel guests after the National Security Guards, Marine Commandos, and Commandos of the Rapid Action Force decided to storm the hotel to rescue those trapped inside.

Please be carefull while investing in PSU Banks as"there are certain other challenges for the industry in terms of Non Performing Asset (NPAs) and may be gradual slowing down in credit growth rates".So be aware and tread carefully!!
