The most original compliment paid to me and that I liked most on this Board was in a conversation between KFactor and VFMdirect: (Q)Bhavani's posts are much like a needle piercing a banana: it goes in so smoothly that even the banana does not know it has been pricked (UQ).
The most effective anti-compliment came from Googol Anna: Bhavani, if there are even a score of Boarders who understand the intricacies of this post of yours, I will stop writing here.
I resorted to pidgin-English (that is Chinese english, for you)for quite a few weeks thereafter. Ever since I have made a concerted effort to re-read my posts and edit off any Americanese that still creeps in from time to time.

bhawani,
no blushing required...
you are good... very good... a lot of latent talent, contant writing will hone the skills in further.. but cos i know from this board of course that you a lil one,and cant go out a be a full fledged jounalist, i truly think you should freelance.... that way you would stll have quality time with your child...i honestly think so... no flattery this... i am far too old to pander to anyones egos anyway.. good id good... and thats you... i think tc is good too... but am a lil unsure of her cos her language is unlike that of a womans.. very very professional...but not of you..give it a go, bhawani... go on try it..

Now you have me blushing all over, Aunty. Yes, I do love writing, and have done quite a bit while at Graduate school, writing about market modelling for the students of non-finance non-math/statistics faculties, much layfolks in this subject. Money management for dummies is something I co-authored in those days at the Uni, a few, not many, years ago.

Your ever-witty responses with the slightest tinge of sarcasm that has one guessing, whether you mean it or are being sarcastic are most enjoyable. LOL
Bhavani - did you notice that most people were cribbing when the new format was introduced? But ask for specific feedback and the response is at best lukewarm - I pity the mod, more so because now she does not seem to be of rakshas descent.

Gd mng, OT.
That is because if one looks at it dispassionately bereft of egos it is basicaly the fear of the unknown that makes everyone more comfortable with a status quo and restless with any change. My MIL, for instance, went sleepless for a couple of days when we merely changed her pillow. Why, even Vanaja, the baby, seemed to be ill at ease when we changed the orientation of her crib. Even when we change our TV or fridge for a newer version we do feel the older one was more easy to handle. It is just this that has had all of us, including me, on tenterhooks as an initial reaction. We onlt tend to see what we miss at any stage and not what we gain till we use all the new features.
Having said that I should admit the MOD has turned out to be a very efficient spokesperson for MMB both the management as also the users and taken everyone on board efffectively letting go the small fish to get the big one for herself.
One of the hallmarks of my writing, thanks to the training under great correspondents like sns and Poorna, has been that even if you cannot make more friends at least make sure that our remarks do not create new enemies. And I am not unique, both of us do know very many kind-hearted souls on this Board and elsewhere too.

Dear MOD..
It's surprise to see in some of the boarders can paste a link with dot com , or dot net, ( the full link ) in their messages, Most of them are spam and get published..
But the same facility is not allowed for all, even when we have to give some source info while giving information.
I'm just curious..!!!...

Hi pranky,
Have you noticed that whenever the Moderator answers a question or addresses the community.. the gender is never specified also we never specify whether we are a team of individual or just one individual running the show.. Did that give you a hint?
But we assure you something.. the 2004 MMB team is still around and very involved in the daily operations..

Good morning RN. Already up and about on a Sunday morning! Has anybody complained (in your family) that you are ignoring them? If so, you need to be de-addicted. :)

The best place for fundamental analysis is Google. ENter the company name and chase the links. Hindu Business Line will give 4-5 good notes. If the company has a website, that will be a good place. Make sure the website gets updated. Give an email to the company secretary and see if they respond, regding results etc.CHeck out our own MMB Price CHart for Mutual FUnd holdings. In my book, I will be outlining the top Mutual FUnds to scan for while doing fundamental analysis.[Example: If Seth MakhanLaL Soodh Mutual FUnd is invested, better to avoid but its ok if Prudential ICICI fund, Tata Mutual FUnd or Franklin Templeton etc are invested. Heres a 1000 rupee tip on why Arvind , Mahavir and Raymond were good for investing in 2004. Indo Rama SYnthetics, a rival company, has 160,000 shares each of Arvind, Mahavir and Raymond. Ultimate Hedging, what, by Mr OP Lohia!!! Dig deep into balance sheets, and discover gold :) ]Other good websites apart from MMB include ww w. indiainfoline. com ;ww w.moneypore. com;ww w.myiris. com;ww w.profitfromus. com;etc etc etcOverall, MMB is the market leader for funda analysis for its sheer exhaustiveness. Hi RN,
If you write to the MOD, keywords from past posts that you think are worth retrieving, the Mod can perhaps find them easily.

Oldtimer,
I think i have a few of these posts, let me see if i can post it for you here.. i saved it on my system....
BTW today was the most boring day... some problems with my tax returns filed by my broker cum taxconsultant...
how do u show ur trades for tax returns
Do u go to ICICIBANK account and filter on EBA entries and see withdrawals deposits, minus one from another and arrive at ur profits or do you go to ICICIDIRECT and total the trade book?
Kindly tell me. Thanks.
Which should i do.. some confusion today and i was left poring over sheets of paper not knowing what to do.
