Thanks for your views. What you write could be perfectly in order. Promoters of course will apply for additional shares and they would get the entire shares allotted to them as it is certain that public will not subscribe to the issue since the right share price is higher than market price. Of course, it is a good company but at present all metal shares are facing downward journey and this will not be an exception. Share likely to get support around 80/-....

Anything is possible in this kind of market - hindalco for the last 2 years is an underperformer - but the net worth of the stock is way above than what it is currently quoting - hindalco generates power more than some good companies that are quoting good prices even in the current market scenario. I am a long term ivnvestor in this company and let me share with you of what i think of the whole thing - the promoters hold 27% shares in the company - they had issued warrants at a very high price(around 170-180 levels) by paying 10% of the amount ie., 18/- per share - and now the share is available for half that amount - the promoters are forfieting the amount already paid - now what they did was they got the prices hammered to around the rights issue levels so that the public is not interested in subscribing to it - and in the prospectus it is clearly mentioned that the promoters can subscribe to 50% of the unsubscibed portion in this rights issue which will help them prop up their holdling substantially - according to the law no company can buy more than 5% of the paid up capital from the open market in a year - so now what they are doing is they are buying from open market as well (upto 5%) and wud also subscribe to the rights issue which was knowingly hammered -
in short I would just like to say that this company is available really cheap @ current levels - i don`t deny the fact that tomm it can`t go down to absurd levels as stated by many other boarders - but if that time comes please use it an opportunity to buy more - i am sure when the market revives it will revive as well - a point to note - the total market cap of hindalco at CMP is LESS THAN HALF the amount spent to acquire NOVELIS -
This is an oppurtunity and we should use it wisely.

Promoters continue to aquire millions of shares by direct purchase as given below+ thro` other entities to prop the stock above 90 levels to make the rights issue a success.All(Hedge Funds/FIIs/Mutual Funds /Retail investors etc etc)are merrily selling as seen by the volumes.This raises some serious questions:1)The rights issue is likely to devolve and underwriters will have to be persuaded to honor their committments.Will they?This is `cause it would lead to huge sure shot staggering losses if they suscribe.2)Promoters will then have to suscribe to the underwriters committments + suscribe to their own rights.This is after buying and buying in the last few days to prop the stock up!At this rate they will end up virtually owning up the whole company!!No one has unlimited money hence to re-coup some cash Promoters may have to sell huge part of the stock in open market later.
Metals continue to fall today in addition to the huge losses they have already suffered and these losses will continue in a weaking global economy.Hindalco`s quarterly result for this quarter is also expected to be luke warm
All these factors could lead soon to a massive plunge in the stock much below the levels of 45-65 which I had earlier given.Those who have not exited still have a chance to exit above 90 levels.Yes,in fact this is the BEST stock in the market today to just short sell and make money.Regards.Jd....

Just as I posted yesterday(see my post below).Promoters are artificially buying the stock thus doing their best to make the rights issue a success;otherwise the stock would have reached 20-40% lower just like other similar stocks.Look at Hind Zinc it has again fallen 14% today and going lower.The retail investor SHOULD get out of Hindalco at these artificial levels fast and just reject the rights.Re-enter in the range of 45-65 levels;U will definitely easily get these prices in this furious global/domestic meltdown particularly in the metals sector where there is lot of pain still left.Regards.Jd....
