Indraprastha Gas the sole disributer of CNG & PNG in NCR Delhi has done a good job for past many years. It has excellent financials and its boottom line has increased consistently by more than 25% a year. With the increase in diesel and petrol price, many vehicles are converting to CNG DUE TO SAVING OF ALMOST 70-75%. There are serpentine queues at any IGL distribution station and the management is taking steps to increase the supply to meet ever increasing demand. CNG is also becoming popular due to pollution concerns. Approximately 5000 vehicles are converting to CNG in NCR Delhi per month. EPS for the year 07-08 was Rs 12.5 and likely to increase to Rs 16-17 during the year 08-09. I consider IGL a strong investment buy with a target price of Rs 190-200 withen next six to nine months....

Pay commission recommendation are not just a drain on the Govt finances but can also provide tremendous boost to the economy by enhancing demand for various consumer products, housing and education. Govt servant will put this money to only productive use or save. The money spells good for our economy even if there is little increase in deficit financing or inflation....

Dear tally, yup. you are right. a PE of 30 for a stock generating 50-60 crores of expected profits this year is slightly high. so even i feel the stock could consolidate here or even drop to 38-40 levels in the near future and then go up again after some good news like land development. till then its better to stay away from the counter. the markets also should consolidate a bit for making any fresh entry into the stocks from investment point of view. its very unfortunate that most of the guys are once again stuck in these type of midcap stocks and the markets have again started reacting from 15,500 levels. its a sad note. lets see whether falling crude can bring any cheer to market on monday despite the hurting inflation 12.44% figure. cheers, swamy. ...

shashi and i were in college together tally... we did our first play/theatre, together.. it was called.. ST. JOAN... nothing to do with joan of arc.. then i left for london... we never really liked each other you know..looking back i think it was a lot to do with youngsters ego... i was in miranda and he was in stephans... both as freshers....but we still did the play honorably despite our not getting along... you just took me back years and years back in history...
