Abhinav a ‘loser’ in life :

Despite his feat of winning India's maiden individual Olympic gold medal, ace marksman Abhinav Bindra says he considers himself a "loser" in life as he has done nothing except shooting at ranges.
"All my life has been shooting. I have done nothing in my life. I am quite a loser. I have done nothing in the past 12 years. I just sleep, run and do nothing except shooting," Bindra told BBC's 'Ek Mulaqat' programme.
"Sport is one part of life. There are so many other things to life but I have done nothing," he added.
The 25-year-old said he was studious child until he caught hold of a rifle and became addicted to taking aims at shooting ranges.
"As a child I was not at all fond of sports. I was a studious kind. But after I started shooting, I hated studies.
"You know an athlete's life seems very glamorous that he is going here and there to the Olympics. The other side always looks greener. But I think an athlete's life is very hard.

There is so much pressure. It's not all fun and frolic," he said.

The hilarious vigour shown by Mr. Vijender Kumar in winning first ever boxing medal for India will be a model case to take forth the desire to do more, worth noticing at pinnacle of sporting shows in future. His defeat at crucial juncture leaves behind a point for authorities to ponder over. If a mere lacklusture support can bring back home a medal, what if a consistent active support and motivation is lent to raw talent ?

PS. I would like to see an Indian medal tally at Olympic in my this very lifetime : 25 Golds, 20 Silver & 15 Bronze !!!...

Thanks a lot! Atleast 1 Gold & 2 Bronze for India....

Indian boxer Vijender Kumar settled for a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics after being out-punched by Cuban Emilio Correa Bayeaux in the semifinals of the 75 kg category.

The 22-year-old was simply out-thought by his Cuban rival who negated the height and reach advantage of Vijender by fighting from a long range to score an 8-5 win.

But even in defeat, Vijender has made history, becoming the only Indian boxer to clinch an Olympic medal.

Vijender, a Doha Asiad bronze medallist, struggled to connect his punches and was trailing from the very start.

In fact he failed to score a single point in the opening round, which ended 2-0 in the Cuban\'s favour.

Forced to play the catch-up game, Vijender managed a slight recovery in the second round as he reduced the deficit to just one point ending the second round 3-4 behind.

Bayeaux stuck to his strategy of back-paddling after landing punches, most of which were straight and more importantly precise.

The Cuban\'s lightening fast reflexes thwarted Vijender\'s attacks and the Indian once again failed to score in the third round.

The decider saw a desperate Vijender on the offensive but the Cuban survived the brief assault, although earning a two-point penalty for committing a foul, leaving the scoreline 8-5.

In the matter of existence of vedic sanskritised names in various countries throughout the world considerable research has been done, and it goes to establish that there was most probably a centralised culture from which various sub-cultures branched out. These braches subsequently lost touch. For specimen here is a small list of names of persons, towns, countries etc.

Vatican (from vishnu, vittu), Roma (from Rama), Gaul (old name for france - from Galava rishi), Eritria (from Atri), Augustine (from Agasthya), Hahneemann (from Hanuman), Druids (from dravid - meaning dri, drik - direct perception- seer, vid - the learned) - dravidian is not a seperate race, refers only to very cultured people, islam (isa-alayam), darasalam (dwara isaalayam), Ramesis (from Rama isa), Richard (from Ramachandra), Christ (from Krishna), shia (siva - sivite people), Ramadhan (Ramadhyan)Kureshi (from kuru), January (from Janus - Ganesh), Id (from Idaa - worship), .. this list is endless. Emperor of Ethiopia used to claim he was of Ishvaku dynasty. In Thailand, you see endless Rama streets Sita Roads.
Singapore is Singa pura.

Sometime we got Mahesh yogi channel in TV, but we do not get now -They showed that the name Rama is there in all countries in the world.
