The secret exchange
The whole of Mathura was under a spell, sleeping. Vasudev was getting ready to carry the baby to Gokul, across the River Yamuna. Devaki came close to Vasudev to get one last glimpse of the baby. What they saw was a vision of Vishnu. The baby had an enchanted light around him. It felt like that the baby?s tiny hands were holding the Shankha (conch), Chakra (wheel), Gada (mace), and Padma (lotus), all symbols of the lord.
The vision lasted only for a moment. Vasudev said: ?He is none other than Lord Vishnu. The lord has come down in human form so that he can be one with the mortals and show them light. He has come down in response to the prayers of his devotees.? Devaki kissed her son one last time and Vasudev headed out of the cell.
It was a dark night and the monsoon raged outside the prison cell. The demon guards lay sprawled all over, taking no notice of Vasudev. One after another the castle doors opened for him.
Outside the palace, intermittent flashes of lightning were the only source of light. At last, Vasudev reached the banks of the river Yamuna. The river was surging and the water seemed to be rising as Vasudev waded through it. The baby was in a threshing basket. He kept the basket on his head to save the child from the waters of the surging Yamuna. Yamuna kept rising. Little did the father know that the river was rising only to touch the baby?s feet. The baby lowered its feet so that the river could touch it. Soon the River Yamuna receded and parted, making way for father and son. Vasudev realised that it was raining rather heavily but they were unaffected by the rain. Sheltering them was the great monarch of serpents, Vasuki, with his raised multi-hooded head.
The rain subsided and Vasuki withdrew. The village Gopa, where Nanda (Vasudev?s step-brother) was the chieftain, was not far. As Vasudev approached the village, he realized that the power of Mahamaya had put to sleep not only the people of Mathura but also of Gopa. Vasudev entered Nanda?s house and found that all but the baby girl were fast asleep.
Vasudev stood gazing at both the children. Slowly, he laid his son by Yashoda?s (Nanda?s wife) side and cautiously took her daughter into his arms. ?My sister,? he said in an inaudible whisper. ?I?m leaving my son in your care. I don?t know about your daughter?s fate. Pardon me; I?m doing as directed by the Divine Mother.?
Stealing a last glimpse of his son and holding Nanda?s child close to his bosom, Vasudev hurried out of the house. In the morning, Kamsa got news of Devaki?s eighth born child. Gnashing his teeth, he stormed into Devaki?s room. Devaki fell at his feet and cried for sympathy. Vasudev said, ?Kamsa, I promise, we?ll leave this place and live in the forest with our daughter. Let our daughter be. Think of the sin you are committing by killing an infant girl.?
Kamsa laughed. ?Vasudev, haven?t I sinned enough by killing so many of your children? What difference is one more going to make? You think I am a fool to spare your eighth child, my foe according to the prophecy??
Devaki clung on to the tyrant?s feet. He kicked her out of his way and clutched the child. Vasudev stood benumbed while Devaki cried copiously. Kamsa went out briskly and reached the inner courtyard where lay the dreaded stone. He swung the child but the child slipped away into the sky. As Kamsa looked upward, startled and shocked, he saw a golden streak of light dissolving in the sky.
A voice from above shook the castle and Kamsa stood benumbed. It said, ?Cruel demon, the one born to destroy you is safe, destined to grow up somewhere beyond your reach?.
Kamsa stood speechless for long, unable to comprehend the course of events. The infant that disappeared was none other than MAHAMAYA herself.

His colleagues were stunned when he decided to become a monk, but Mr. Mishkov felt the time had come to look after people`s souls.
“Everybody can be a good broker but this does not bring much benefit for the world,” he said. Religion can help people cope in today`s stressful times and find answers, Mishkov added.
Churches in New York`s financial district reported last month increased attendance at lunchtime meetings, with many more people in business attire than usual, when some of the world`s biggest investment banks collapsed.
Steven Bell, chief economist of London hedge fund GLC, said keeping a sense of reality is what traders needed.
“It is very important to just remind yourself that there is a real world out there. In any job but particularly in financial markets, you need to try and keep your feet on the ground,” Mr. Bell told Reuters by phone.
Mr. Mishkov says the crash should also help correct a dangerous global trend of an excessive outflow of labour to the service sectors, by people attracted by high pay and an easy life.
“Milk is not produced by computers, bread doesn`t come from a good company PR. It is necessary to plough, sow and harvest before that,” says the monk.

I absolutely agree with some of your points. They are worthy of note. But the first and foremost question here is why in the first place people are getting converted? Do they see something better in the new religon or community they are going to be abvsorbed in?
YTou are right when you say that there will be enmity between brother and brother - one brother may go to the heaven just because he is a christian and another to hell for not converting to brother`s reglision. It is indeed laughable and condemnable. But who is responsible for creating such a sitaution in a secular India. The anme secular was givn to India by all well-thinking politicians of yeasteryear who were the builder of this country and pillars of our democracy. Let us debate why in the first place this country was declared a secular one and why not a Hindu Rastra? Who stopped our forefathers? Were they Britishers from whom we snatched our freedom by sheding tones of blood? My dear it was prudent for this country to have unity in diversity.
Another point when you do not care for your brthren they will seek shelter somewhere else. If parents are not treating two sons equally , the ill-treated will have grudge and may even leave the home or rebel against the parents and work against them. Examples are aplenty. Let us have a look at the history of emergence of the USA and we wil understand the present scenario of conversion and religious persecution in our country....

The sadhus took the country only 60/70 years
But what did the pope do during world war 2
Encouraged Hitler to kill more than million Jews
when Serbian Christian killed Muslim Bosnian
Did he go and talked to the Serbs? to give up violance
Have you seen the Rwanda movie? Do you know that a substantial number of priests, nuns and even Bishops were indicted and a great many were convicted (by war crimes tribunals) for being directly responsible for the senseless slaughter of thousands of innocent Tutsis? Many clergy turned over those who had taken shelter in their churches to the machetes of the Hutu militia. The hatred and division between the Hutus and Tutsis was propagated by the missionaries as favorable for their objectives of conversion to Christianity.
One priest even burned down his own church to kill hundreds of Tutsis who had taken sanctuary there. Two priests were sentenced to death in 1998 for their roles in this genocide and two Benedictine nuns who supplied gasoline for the burning of Tutsi civilians sheltered in their church fled to Belgium where they were later convicted of complicity to murder.
Sister Maria Kisito, who received 12 years, and her Mother Superior, Sister Gertrude, who received 15 years, were convicted of aiding in the slaughter of some 7,000 people who sought refuge at their convent in southern Rwanda. Prosecutors argued that they called in Hutu militiamen to drive people out of the convent knowing they would be killed, and later provided gasoline that militiamen used to set fire to a garage in which about 500 Tutsis had taken refuge.” (Washington Post, June 9, 2001)[6]
What happens to the morals? Simple words!!!
Are you Sure of the priests teaching you?
Do you know when you convert half of the family of tribal`s?Peace get disturbed, brother kills the other
But one brother will go to heaven because he is christian
Should we Indians believe all these?
How much is the DNA difference between one to another?

Sadhus and mahatmas and Godmen have literally taken India backwards with their various dogmas, rituals, myths and what not. All these 60 years they were busy meditating. But in the meantime some community ppl developed immense capacities like hospitals, educations of calibre, and social service institutions. Any individual touched by any of these selfless services would have had the full right to get converted, the right to which is guaranteed in the Indian Constitution. Do not try to pass these serious conversions off as forced or induced conversions. Scores of tribal villages untouched by these Godmen (who like to have their headquarters around rich villages and towns) have been given decent amount of education and have got employment and are now in position to be selfsufficient. Is is wrong to improve the quality of one`s life? And if in that process he finds the other religion better in having him peace of mind and body why not get converted? This is not forced conversion. The Bajrangees could have resorted to counter inducements to bring back these so called mass converts back into their fold. It would be even better if Muslim, Christan, and Hindu missinoraies going on a charity and inducement spree to get the maximum converts into their fold. In that way at least India could have improved dramatically!!
Applying the conditions and parameter operational 400 years ago to today`s 21st century context would be sheer madness. Don`t think even tribals and nomads in India are fools to get converted unless they are touched by the religion in more way than one!!
Don`t fan fundamental elements and give justification to acts of a nun being raped and made to roam in naked. Todays newsreports state of tribals made to force to eat cowdung and forcibly converted to Hinduism. For what purpose?? Do you think this force will prevail for long. Remember water finds its own level. More sooner than later things will stabilize and these reconverts will shun the religion coz of the sheer brutal forces that were used to force convert them!!
This is not a question of religion but of ethics and morality. Acting like animals and feudals in the name of religion does not bring any good name but more hate for these fundamentalists groups!!
Cheers!!

Well MS... There is a sad fact i know happened... A boy of about 14 years has been converted... His parents remain Hindus... So is his sister... Can you even comprehend the implications ??? I sure wonder when u write such muck... It is a disgrace to read such posts from somebody so senior...
Look up ur own head popeye... This baffoon claims contraception is bad... If only he was prodded further he would have claimed Earth is flat... Ending in Siberia... Again his views on homosexuality is well known... Well here are so many priests who are found Homosexual... Heterosexual and even animals... Like Father and Son Douglas... And what does Popeye do ??? Popeye just apologtizes... Looks like he spends a day in a week doing just this... Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha... ROFL...
As far as I see the Hindu seers have maintained a dignified silence and the only thing I saw them do was hand over a petition and explain to the CM why they wanted a ban on conversion... Contrast that with the way the Archbishop of Bangalore behaved... He was the one who requested an audience with the CM... The CM was magnanimous in coming down to meet the Archbishop... unheard of since India got Independence... Yet look at the way the Buffoon behaved... Contrast that with the dignity the seers showed... So stop prancing around and try and see why the Hindus(Not Bajrang Dal) are so cut up... On TV I see Hindus shown saying Ban Bajrang Dal... In fact as per today`s CNN-IBN Poll 97% want a Ban on Bajrang Dal... Fact is I am yet to meet a Hindu who wants a ban... and I am yet to meet a Hindu who will forgive the Archbishop and the Christians for all the right now muck these clowns have thrown around... Cheers...
PS: Jesus must be turning in his grave right now seeing such followers... LOL......

yes, there are downtrodden sector in muslim society also,
but christian missionaries dare not show their skill there,
they know it a dangerous exercise,
reaction will be instantaneous,
success or no sucess
sure to get Saudi treatment
Venture ruled out therefore.
AND even if a muslim converts to christianity,
he may go back to his old religion same evening
Therefore net addition at the end of he day - Nil,
whole exercise a waste of time !!

Are we not right in construing that these missionaries are misusing their liberties when they resort to conversion by denigrating our gods and the same is admitted to by a catholic priest. when u go to war there are no rules to play by, the geneva convention applies postfacto and not on the battlefield. Hey radhika......ROTG might not be knowing this.....According to one of my christian friend following is published in Bible in the old version of Bible(before the birth of Christe).....which is as follows:
"Abraham(Christe`s father)alongwith his wife prayed to the Almighty that they should have child as they did not have for several years..Years had passed but there are no signs of child...but Abraham`s wife did not lose heart and still prayed to GOD. In the meanwhile Abraham had connection with his lady servant and she got pregant and the child and after those who born are muslims"
is what he said...though I am not sure about that but I don`t think he will tell lie on this as he clearly says it`s published in the old version of Bible..Probably those Christians got converted to Islam might still believe they are son of Abraham and still are christians..

Radhika Madam,
The 3 L loss is whar I see on paper, which a few months back was 3L profit. I want to blame somebody for this but see nobody before me for that. So I would take the blame on me.
When we are in the stock mkt, we have to play the game. So we will see red after green and vise-versa. I am sure of booking profit, one day. When I don`t know but optimist all the time.
The loss or profit is personal. That doesn`t upset my balance. But the Pakistani flag in Assam is giving me pain. Perhaps, Lalu and Mulayam may be congratulating those who hoisted the flag. Our enemies are within the fence.

Hey gv......U are absolutely right....... Something good happens these tv channels will say it had happened only due to their hard work.....But if something bad happens they blame the central or state govt....citing law and order problems.......Ha.....Ha.....Ha....Ha....
Let us introspect with a petty law and order problem issue.....For example in chennai there is a rule that if u spit on public place u will be fined Rs.200 or so......But I have not come across even a single person fined for spiting as the spiting habit does not seem to have changed even after this imposing fine...... In this instead of blaming the police.....why not the public stop spiting on the public place...U can`t post a cop for each and every person is reality..ROFL

A child can be ofcourse touched by another woman more than her mama and that is possible in today`s world!!
All minority institutions have a fixed quota for their own caste students and that is nothing new for Christians!!
Why did not these radicals not develop educational institutes of repute so they do not have to have a try at the institutions run by missinories. Now when time has run out no use shouting over with one`s voice showing money, political, and physical strength to humilate a minority community!!
Taking law into one`s hands giving frivolous reasons is not acceptable in modern society!! Use tactics within the laws of the land!!...

Morningstar,
So since our Sadhus were deep in meditation you converted? I better inform my kids not to go deep in meditation lest the neighbor says I AM UR PAPA to his kid??
So the govt had no role to play, the sadhus should have looked after the welfare of those who were downtrodden? Why the govt dint think it neecesary to play a role.
Touched by faith is fine. Even a child will be touched by the kindness of a woman around home but she will never be able to replace her mama.... and no one will try doing such things no matter how much they love the child. The nanny at best compensates the absence of Mama but never claims the role of her mama.
okay ya chalo... what more do u want to obliterate from the Indian Culture? Our religious scriptures are mocked at, our people are converted with goodies, our sadhus and saints are mocked at, our land is taken by all missionaries for schools and colleges and 90% of seats reserved for the christian faith.....anything else u want.. Would u be happy if all of us converted? Let us know.. we will all jump in the pacific ocean so u dont have to see us anymore.

Honestly the flag in assam is an indication of things to happen in tribal areas... We are doomed by this missionary work.
However 3L loss is quite significant but i bet everybody has had a dent in their portfolio. So keep smiling. Long term means a lot of tears with a big cheez in the end. LOL

Thats the line doing the trick for them. Let them.
I bet no god not even their own god is going to acknowledge their activites one bit if at all gods existed..
But if the combined wrath of people and unseen forces transforms itself as Divine retribution, they will have it one day from an unknown force coz they dared to change the fabric of a land that followed the policy of LIVE AND LET LIVE and disrespected their religous heritage....

The rosary business is just another one of their rituals which rotg may be able to throw light on, probably copied from some pagan world just as the trinity was introduced to increase followers in the early days. Reminds me of the hindu custom of rudraksha and what sages used it for was probably to keep count and also for its gemmology properties. rotg knows fully well what all pagan culture has crept or was retained in christianity for the sake of followers numbers game.
