Market Outlook - Short Term

Thanks for your message and your kind compliments.
I see Nifty forming a bottom within next few days or
so. I do not think Nifty can go below 2300 this time
at least. From the support range of 2350-2450, I see
Nifty rising to the resistance range of 3500-3600 which
I think will be rather protracted in time. It may take
upto 2 months in reaching the given resistance range.
In the Elliott principle, THEORY OF ALTERNATIVE is very
significant. If one upswinger is fast and sharp, then
the next upswinger will be long and slow. Once Nifty
hits the resistance near 3600, it is likely to slide
again slowly to its major support. It will depend on
global cues in January/February how far Nifty can fall
from the level of 3500-3600

Dear Mohanji,
There is a clear and big difference between WRITING CALLS and
SHORT SELLING CALLS. Call writer receives premium while Short Seller of calls pays premium. Theoretically Call writer`s profits are
limited while risk of Short seller of calls is unlimited. If you
write covered call options, you must have underlying security with
you. Say if you write 10 lots of Nifty Calls-3000, you must have
10 lots of NIfty Futures of the same month.
I just wanted to know the other finer points if any in the Call
options.

Sorry for intervening with your query on selling calls.I am slightly confused.As a layman since begining i have been associating selling calls with writing calls.Everyone knows that you are very thorough in stock market.So why this doubt has arisen.Is there any technical difference between the above two?...am I missing something? Yes my bonding with the stock markets is only increasing with each passing day. I have written here so many times that I use Metastocks software to do my levels. Perhaps, you may have missed it. However, I take into consideration many tools and situations before coming to my levels.

As per my exhaustive previous bear market studies, I have noticed the index comes down close to previous lows at least once. It may be within weeks or even months. Hence, I firmly believe that the final bottom needs to be tested once more to confirm that it is indeed the bottom. Yes we have made a higher low, now we need to see if we can make a higher high too. Will keep you updated. take care

On Nifty weekly charts, we still have not fallen below the previous bottom. If we close the coming week higher, then we would have made a higher top on the long term trend chart. Also previous high was 3000 so if we close the week above that or next week above that we would have made a higher top as well. Does this signify the bear market bottom is in place?
Note: I am using end of week (EOW) values only

Our market in 10 months span gone down from 21000 t0 7700,what has happened to corporate India and Investor?
We Indian believe that we are smart but this time atleast western buissnessman have taken over us
tata`s ,have baught Corus ,Land rover-Jaguar at wrong time ,they knew that they are in trouble while Tata`s thaught they are getting at good valuation ,today in same price they might have baught Chrysler,GM and ford as well
Similarly Birlas nivelis buy out proved to be wrong time
We the Investors also thought at at 12500 that it is fair valuation FII sold and we bought
so not only Corporate big brain also we the small smart Indian were trapped by these goras
Hence forth not only Corporate but we ,the Gov all should be carefull and watchful of them
They know how to take out money from our pocket
This time beware of them believe in India our economy and trap them
It is possible if we do not take clue from them rather let them take clue from us

Yup, in a casual, and a very general vein I always quip to my students that you can be good (NOT master) at something ONLY by being a very keen, preceptive STUDENT always, and by carrying your task with a ceratin unfalgging `conviction of purpose`. Friday was a bullish englulfing day per the candlestick chart. Was also an inside day per the bar chart.
Stochastics of most scripts showed positive divergence.
The bounce will come. So why not just say so. We will not be the new leaders along with China in this turn around. The western nations will follow our markets, at least until the they get their debt levels to a more reasonable levels.
We all know that markets would either go to 3000 or tank below 2500 - we expect experts like you to tell us what the next destination of the market is.
Why then do u make statemetns - It could go to 3000-3200 or it cud go gelow 2500.
Any one having a demat account would be able to say that.
I think we will first go to the 3000 level and then head back, even if the US markets tank on monday and tuesday.
Our run would be halted on options expirty - that would be based on the sentiment prevailing among option traders on wed at market close.

Nifty will hit 1800 in jan or feb 2009 due to the worst quaterely results . Before any bull run to start nifty must hit 1800.
