Up to 2,000 jobs are under threat after Rosebys became the latest casualty of the credit squeeze.

Rosebys which was bought in July 2006 by GHCL has went into administration after hitting a cash crisis.

Rosebys owes other companies in the group, a total of £19m. It also owes creditors as much as £11.7m.

Accountancy firm KPMG is trying to find a buyer to rescue the business, which has sales of £100million a year....

it may prove to be a blessing in disguise.kpmg has confirmed that the brand name of rosebys has already been sold to ghcl and ghcl is eyeing emerging markets like india and east europe to launch rosebys brand in a big way. in fact rosebys is making its india debut on oct 14 in kolkatta.going into administration only means that they are looking for a going concern sale for a whole or a part of their business.few employees may be retrenched and and some stores in high streets will get sold off to raise capital. this is good news for long term...
