Seems, Amitabh Bachchan will not be missed in ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 3’. The new host Shah Rukh Khan has swept aside all the uncertainties shrouding the change in host and mesmerized the audience in his very first appearance itself.
On Monday evening, the KBC team from Star and Synergy Adlabs watched SRK's inaugural appearance with SRK at a special screening at Hotel Taj Lands End in Bandra (a western suburb in Mumbai).
Few minutes after the show was over, social activist cum film-maker Ashoke Pandit told Bollyvista com, "It did not seem that Shah Rukh was hosting his first episode of KBC. I thought I was watching his 60th episode."
SRK's buddy and film-maker Karan Johar watched the episode in Dubai. He said that he was constantly on the phone with his mother who is in India, until the episode got over. "Shah Rukh was confident and brilliant. He was very gracious with the contestants, which stems from the fact of he being similar in approach with his fans. I was very excited while watching the show."
Pandit does not rule out that comparisons with Amitabh Bachchan will happen. "But that will be for just a few episodes. SRK is really a king. The youth will catch on to the show." Siddharth Basu (of Synergy Communications who have produced the show endorsed, "SRK is youthful and playful, very friendly and has a sportsman's approach to the game."
Basu says that SRK's ready wit and sense of humour which will relax the contestants and entertain the audience. "KBC with SRK gets better with each outing. He's a people's person, and I'd be surprised if people don't take to the new series with him at the helm," he gushed.
When contacted, Queen of soaps, Ekta Kapoor, whose serial ‘Karam Apna Apna’ was shifted to accommodate KBC 3, said, "King rules. I made it a point not to miss the first episode. But now, I am going it to see it tomorrow again. That says it all, doesn't it?"
