USA: IBM also announces results.

The Armonk, New York-based company`s results, released more than a week ahead of schedule, will likely help stop a steep slide in IBM`s stock price and could lift other big technology stocks. IBM is a component of the Dow Jones industrial average.

IBM`s profit per share beat Wall Street`s forecast by 4 cents and the company reaffirmed its full-year earnings guidance. Both were strong signs that IBM`s core businesses are holding up well despite the deteriorating US economy.

After the unexpected announcement Wednesday, it gained $5.35, or 5.9 percent, to $95.90 in
after-hours trading....

Bad time or good time, Infosys has to grow; because basically company is tecnology services provider and tecnology is such thing like bread without which no business can manage to servive or even die!-Ramesh Zawar...

Infosys Technologies is to announce its second quarter FY09 numbers. According to CNBC-TV18 estimates, its net profit is seen going up by 9.6% to Rs 1427.5 crore from Rs 1302 crore (QoQ).

hello who said that the tech sector is slowing down,looking at the results and the guidance given i do not seem to think the same is happning.

I think for a long term this is a right time to get in.
