Good point
The main saving can come from non critical areas you have mentioned
The govt also should encourage recycled water in Flats at least in Mumbai, since it has good society laws
Why not encourage buildings with water treatment plant?
Govt can reduce the BMC tax for these buildings
At least this will encourage new buildings

RNA building in Mira Road installed a water recycling plant many years ago,but i was told running the plant involves expenses and many members are not keen to pay
The best solution is govt should make mandatory for all new big buildings
Why not? When people go for expensive marbles, health clubs/gyms, swimming pools etc etc
This is a small price to pay
The long term solution is sea water at least for cities have seas
It may look expensive now,So was crude oil (from single digit to 3 digit now)

Thirty-five Pakistan nationals on a visit to China for the Olympics have been detained on suspicion of planning to attack the Games proceedings, a media report said on Wednesday.

The Chinese government has sought the details of the 35 suspects from Pakistan in a letter that claims that they had arrived in China to attack proceedings at the ongoing Games, Daily Times reported.

The paper said Colonel Anjum Sheikh Saeed of the Foreign Security Department wrote to the Interior Ministry on August 18 asking the authorities concerned to collect details of those detained.

It said the Chinese government has not released the names of those held, but has given the names and passport numbers of 13 others.

In Beijing, an official spokesperson declined to confirm the report saying he did not have information on the issue.

\"I don\'t have information yet (on this issue.) But I will check for you,\" Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Qin Gang told reporters when asked to confirm the Pakistani media report.

In the past, Beijing has demanded Islamabad crack down on separatists from its restive Xinjiang region, who are getting \"trained\" in Pakistani terror camps.

Hi,
Pls read this
\"We need energy to provide water and water to make energy. For example, it takes four gallons of water to produce one gallon of oil. And it takes anywhere from 4-800 gallons of water to make one gallon of ethanol. This is, I think, the ultimate dagger in the ethanol craze – it simply requires too much water during a time when water is becoming all the more dear.

But to the man on the street, water is cheap, and, therefore, of little concern. In the words of Rooney, water is \"somewhere between free and your cable bill.\" But imagine how you might have felt 10 years ago, when oil was $13 per barrel, if someone told you that in 10 years, oil would fetch more than $140 per barrel. You wouldn\'t have believed it – and you would have missed out on massive gains in oil stocks.

We have the same scenario unfolding here. Rooney began with that familiar old couple, supply and demand. The latter is skyrocketing. It may not surprise you to learn that the rapid industrialization of China and India has some part to play. In short, these emerging market countries have a lot of catching up to do.

Reality show Bigg Brother star and participant of the Indian version Bigg Boss, Jade Goody has been diagnosed with \"cancer of the womb\" and been withdrawn from the television show, a UK based tabloid has reported.

Goody received the news on Tuesday and is flying back to London for treatment, The Sun, UK has reported. She had undergone hospital tests earlier this month after she collapsed four times, it is said.

\"But she decided to get into Bigg Boss to try to make amends after being accused of racism on last years Celebrity Big Brother,\" the report states.

Bigg Boss, Season II, is being hosted by Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, who was allegedly racially abused by Goody in the 2007 series of Big Brother in UK.

Jade, from Upshire, Essex, was tested for bowel cancer in 2006 and ovarian cancer in 2004, but was given all-clear both times.

Hi,
Drug companies are quietly pushing through price hikes of 100% – or even more than 1,000% – for a very small but growing number of prescription drugs, helping to drive up costs for insurers, patients and government programs.

The number of brand-name drugs with increases of 100% or more could double this year from four years ago, researchers from the University of Minnesota say. Many of the drugs are older products that treat fairly rare, but often serious or even life-threatening, conditions.
Last year, prices rose about 7.4% on average for 1,344 brand-name drugs, according to Express Scripts, which manages drug benefits for large employers and insurers.
