Unfortunately I dont share that much opitimism. I believe fair value should be between 650-800. As we can\\`t give full value to hidden assets....

reorganisation does not mean value unlocking. I like this company and nothing to loose at this price.But whether it can make new high in next 2years?

Dear Nodick, to be truthful,My investments in forbes is for Long term.It doesnt matter me if the cmp is 400 or 800.My returns expectation are much more then the above mentioned figure as I see investment in Forbes as a theme and not just an investment in any other company. Will like to know the basis of your valuation by which you came at 650-800 levels.Also will like to know your valuation of Eureka forbes,land in chennai,mumbai,swadeshi mills and also shipping subsidiary and stake in port company Regards...

This Disk based DTH model will not be successfull. IPTV model will be success.. IPTV through one of these transmission like RF, landline, wimax will be successfull. Installing disk on house is not easy to maintain. Common solutions like mobile/telephone connection is feasible. People just need to buy one set top box and they can carry that anywhere and as soon as they plug into phone line they will get TV. In long term Disk based DTH modeil will fail as it is already not not catching market. ...

With Reliance coming into the market with Big TV the rules of engagement in the game would change. With Reliance investing heavily and having a wide user base (through Reliance Mobile network and reliance share holders), one should anticipate Reliance to march ahead in the market. The earlier players like Dish TV & Tata Sky unless compete with a renewed gear, will soon loose out on their investments due to sheer marketing pressure from Reliance. Next Quarter would be interesting to see some wars on the DTH space....

When does the 'accounting standard (AS) 14' issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India become applicable — prior or post amalgamation? These are the two major questions that the Madras High Court, which is hearing the objections from a group of minority shareholders to the scheme of amalgamation between FAL Industries Limited and the Forbes Gokak Limited, have to decide on. FAL Industries, which has an equity base of Rs4.5 crore, started as a manufacturer of manual typewriters. With the domestic market for manual typewriters declining steadily, the company started contract-manufacturing vacuum cleaners, motors, air purifiers, paper shredders and other products. Nearly 70 per cent of the company's turnover comes from selling vacuum cleaners and electric motors to Eureka Forbes Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Forbes Gokak, part of the Shapoorji Pallonji group. The group holds a 78-per cent stake in the FAL Industries. Sometime back the group decided to amalgamate FAL Industries with Forbes Gokak, which holds around 31 per cent of the FAL Industries's stake. The majority shareholders of both the companies approved the scheme of amalgamation. The swap ratio, based on the valuation by the Mumbai-based accounting firm N M Raiji & Co, is one Rs10-equity share of Forbes Gokak for every seven Rs10 equity shares of FAL Industries. The companies have filed the scheme of amalgamation at Mumbai and Chennai High Courts — FAL Industries with the Madras High Court and Forbes Gokak with the Mumbai High Court. Four shareholders who collectively hold around 1.10 per cent (48,924 shares) of FAL Industries, are objecting to the amalgamation on the grounds that the swap ratio does not reflect the true value of FAL Industries. According to them, FAL Industries have been undervalued. They have filed their objections with the Madras High Court.
