Comparison of 1 year Returns shows that hardly 10-15 Equity Funds out of more than 200 Equity funds have generated +ve Returns in last 1 year.

In last 3 years Market suffered huge Losses in June 2006 & currently 2008.

Those Funds which Rank in top 10-20 on 1 year/3 year Basis deserve Attention.

Good Fund should GROW more when market Goes up & LOSE LESS during Declines.

Following Funds have shown character during last 2-3 years.

Templeton India Equity Income Fund
Reliance Regular Saving Equity Fund
ICICI PRU Infrastructure Fund

Other Better Funds include Following

Birla Frontline Equity Fund
IDFC Premier Equity Fund
DSPML Top 100 / DSPML Equity Fund
DSPML Investment Opportunity/ DWS Alpha Equity Fund
Reliance Diversified Power Sector Fund
DBS Chola Opportunity Fund

Other Less Volatile Funds Include HDFC Growth & Kotak -30 Fund.

Better Performing Aggressive Funds include Sunderam Select Focus & Kotak Opportunity Funds,Reliance Growth Fund.

Among New Funds JM Contra is GOOD Option to Watch.

Recently Launched Reliance QUANT PLUS Fund (By Merging 2 Index Funds on 17th April 2008)seems to be very GOOD PROSPECT for Future.It Invests in 10-15
Stocks of NIFTY selected by Fund Manager based on MATHEMATICAL Model.

This is not PASSIVELY Managed Fund.
