Dear freinds, I'm pasting my mailing with a person, who after reading my posts on MMB, mailed me on my personal E-mail ID & requested for portfolio restructuring. Name is not revealed to protect the identity of the person.
Please note the intention of posting these messages is not glorifying myself but to help others as well as inviting comments from fellow boarders.

Dear Ashalanshu,

My name is XYZ (name not given to protect identity of the person), I am a regular viewer on Moneycontrol on read your posts quite often. I need your advise in retirement planning. I am a very long term investor and can wait for 10-15 years. Actually i am building his fund as a retirement benefit. As the market corrected sharply, all my portfolio is in loss. I am siping 2000 each month in the below funds since sept, 07.
reliance vision
birla sun life eq. fund
hdfc growth
fidelity eq. fund
dsp tiger

I was in good profit till jan, but after the crash my portofolio came crashing down and as of today most of them are 30-40% down. Though i am long term investor i regret that i should have sold my portofolio long before. Apart from this i used to invest in below ELSS since last 3 years, 10k each -
sbi magnum
hdfc taxsaver
hdfc long term adv. fund
principal tax saver
fidelity tax saver
I have also done lumpsum investments of 10k each in rel. vision, dsp tiger, icici pru serv., reliance eq., templeton eq, sundaram rural india. I was sitting on good profits of 70k in these funds but now my poftfolio is in negative. My losses in stock markets are huge as i invested more in small & mid-cap stocks. I would like your advise, even though Fund Managers are experts but when market goes down the portfolio of my stocks and funds go hand-in-hand. Can you please advise on the above SIP, as to they are ok, or should i renew into other funds come Aug,08. Also can you advise on good taxsaver funds for this year, i plan to invest as early as this month. Appreciate your help. i plan to invest another 10k from this year as sip. So can you please advise in which funds should i sip @ 20k per month for a very long term, say 15 years. Thanks in advance for your advise. Have a good day.
