Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd has informed BSE that the Register of Members & Share Transfer Books of the Company will remain closed from September 10, 2008 to September 24, 2008 (both days inclusive) for the purpose of payment of dividend & 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Company to be held on September 24, 2008....

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited has informed the Exchange that the Annual General Meeting of the Company will be held on September 24, 2008. The Register of Members and Share Transfer Books of the Company will remain closed from September 10, 2008 to September 24, 2008 (both days inclusive). The dividend on equity shares, as recommended by the Board of Directors, subject to the provisions of Section 206A of the Companies Act, 1956, if approved by the members at the aforesaid Annual General Meeting, will be paid on or after September 30, 2008....

REC is excelltn pick right now. Stock could see 2-3 times more upside in medium to long term. REC has just got Rs.1700 Cr. thorugh bonds for projects. REC issue size was just around Rs.250 Cr....

One does not understand why they are delaying payment of dividend!! The delay might be earning them fantastic amount of interest!!LOL!!

frnd, never time the market... even i hold 1300 stocks at 103, i will hold all of them for 2 years... i\\`m sure during next 2 years its going to hit 300 some day...it may not be easy to belive, but it will happen...
stock has earnings of 11, it will surely grow to 15 - 18 in 2 years, at p/e of 20, it should trade at 300.
my advice is you have invested in a good stock, just forget it for 2 years, you will make handsome returns.....

dont worry mate no ones got it so far as record date not yet fixed but the stock has shot up 6% today after many weeks of red i think operators are working up something...
