If you want to look at transactions, the best way to do it is by looking at either your trade book or your portfolio - That would give you an exact account of your trades.

BTW today was the most boring day... some problems with my tax returns filed by my broker cum taxconsultant... how do u show ur trades for tax returns Do u go to ICICIBANK account and filter on EBA entries and see withdrawals deposits, minus one from another and arrive at ur profits or do you go to ICICIDIRECT and total the trade book? Kindly tell me. Thanks. Which should i do.. some confusion today and i was left poring over sheets of paper not knowing what to do....

Dear OT, In case of First scenario i would say the market will go down to 900 first, In case of scenario 2 I would choose 1100, But markets will prove us wrong, so these days i want to do one thing , If gut feeling say we will go down then I will buy, If my feeling say It will be up then I will sell.. It happened with me last july 2007 , NIFTY was at 3650 and gone to 4450 in aug-sep, Then when it fallen to 4050 , I bought a lot and sold at around 4300, Then when it reached I started selling left and right only to saw the markets moved to 6300, Then when it's coming down from 5600 I started buying and burned my fingers as well... So past history is really haunting traders...and investors. Regards Aru ...

Dear OT, Absolutely.. Past history very important role and i would have probably gone along with the survey as well.. Eg, When infy started to fall from 2600, we thought 2300 was very good and went long only to realise subsequent results probably justified the price. I think this gets even difficult for traders as many people are day-traders or cant resist to press the button when the quotes move fast.. On a day like today, i preferred to go long once its 100 pts down, because the downside atleast for today based on what i saw over the last week, looks very limited.. So i think the immediate move will be an upmove for whatever magnitude which could be right, but then my greed takes over only to realise after a week or so, that 4300CE looks very expensive.. Cheers...

Dear OT DOW tumbled and Indian market may follow the suit. Behaving in a particular scenario depends all on the psychology of an individual.
