I agree with you that Nifty may make Head and shoulders
formation. It will be confirmed if Nifty does not rise
much above 4539. It may end up in DOUBLE TOP FORMATION
which is also a strong bearish pattern. I have found that
it is not necessary that Nifty should reach its peak on
the same day as Dow. Domestic news flow can delay the top
by several days or even a few weeks. But once Nifty start
crashing, it will fall very sharply as it has to catch
falling Dow. To keep its pace with dow, it has to fall
rather quickly. Once Nifty forms right shoulder in the
region of 4540-4600 or forms Double Top around 4650, it
will fall sharply. No doubt about it.

is not exhaustive. Many more stocks may be added to that.

I think the gap above 4600 needs to filled....... we could easily land anywhere from 4850 to 5200 on nifty.......but first it has to break that 4600 to 4650 with a convincing push............yes...hahaha ...

Why do you rule out HPCL or IOC?...

Nifty may not raise as you all said. It is not that just because of N.Deal everything has changed in the global market. There are people who think about future trend will not buy YOUR power stocks at high price. If somebody is willing to buy then they will be trapped at higher level. Think about those who have bought NTPC at 300+ level. So people won\\`t be in rush to buy stocks at this level. There are very bright chances that one can buy all these power stocks at lower levels when NIFTY reaches 4000 levels soon....

why do you think there will be a Gap up on monday? If the US govt takes over Fannie and Freddie this weekend, thier shares are sure to tank on monday. doesnt that make for a gap down opening?...
