In the recent selling of treasury bills there were no buyers..
Which means people are not buying US treasuries.. infact the rate of return on T Bills has increased in the last couple of days..

The reason the dollar is strengthing is due to the fact that most of the global trade is done in dollars and you need dollars to buy and sell.. in todays market there are no buyers and sellers for dollars as nobody wants to lend them (for the traders to buy and sell so the value of dollar has risen due to demand from traders/exporters)

yes going forward the dollar is worthless.. but I think when the dollar becomes worthless.. US Exporters will swamp the market..

imagine US becoming the manufacturing hub of the World!!!

When the dollar has depreciated Airbus started manufacturing certain parts in US (As long term they see the dollar loosing strength..)

Till now US was the only country happy to spend all that it wants .. (And have a strong Dollar) imagine US being a country that wants to export .. all thet it can just like china and all other countries..
(It will want a weak dollar)

US is directly walking towards the japanese model.. low interest rate.. export oriented.. Infact when the market was collapsing the Fed took some advise from the japanese Central bank and bought all the housing assets.. (Japan did that almost a decade back to make its bank solvent..)

Dollar down.. yes.. how down.. dont think it will be Rs 10 per dollar
I think we (India & other exporting countries) will not be able to withstand a dollar below Rs30-35.

There is also an excessive capacity buildup.. in certain industries.. you can expect those industries to do badly.. as demand destruction is happening as we speak..

Only the strong survive!!!..

=happy investing.

Dear amit , you can notice that ,in recent days FII`s have reduced their stake and the institutional holding has been increased. The total selling which has made the share price to fall to this level is purely from PUBLIC holdings. this shows the value hidden in wockhardt. As expected by me wockhardt is performing in line.
I expected
Revenues : 35000 mn
EBITDA : 850 Cr
PAT : 480 Cr

Results (2 qtrs)
Revenues : 17200 mn
EBITDA : 405 cr
PAT : 157 cr

Results after q3
Revenues : 26750 mn
EBITDA : 645 cr
PAT : 300 Cr

I am quite confident that wockhardt will exceed my expectations in performance. You have to have patience thats all. Remember this is market.

ICICIBANK should publish a list of its corporate account holders as on date. With the bank they also go down together. Thats another reason why there is a sudden surge of bear run on so many scrips at the same time ...

Dear vkk43,

The rise in the Dollar may be baffling many including yourself, but the explanation is very simple.
The low Interest rate regimes in the US and Japan had ensured copious money flows that drove the Bull Market of the last 4 Yrs. Stock and Commodity Markets in every country received heavy Money flow. When the big Financial Institution in USA ran into trouble Liquidity tightened and Risk aversion rose.Large Institutions rushed to liquidate their liquid Assets in all Markets to shore up their Cash positions. These funds were not diverted to other RISK Assets, instead got parked in US Treasury Bills. The Dollar had to strengthen.

Please keep in mind that this Dollar strength is temporary, till Markets stabilise.Once sanity returns the Dollar will start a slow but long decline.I expect it to lose half its value over the next decade.Mind you the Japanese Yen has strengthened against the Dollar as Japanese are prefering to take their money home to a zero Interest rather than seeing their Wealth erode.
I will be keen to SELL the Dollar forward(1 to 2 Yrs) using the Option route in the Global Markets.
This is the right time for Exporters to Sell their Dollar incomings into the Forward Market, unfortunately they did so in the first 2 Qtrs of 2008 and are suffering massive Treasury losses.
I hope you are now getting a better picture.
Regards!

Goldchest.

Well Sir, stocks of my choice are listed at my HomePage. And, even if these LISTED stocks tank by as much as 50%, they will not accrue me loss of even a penny. The secret to profits (and consequent wealth) lies in the choice of suitable EQUITY-MANAGEMENT OPERATIVES and not is any GRAND list of loss-proof stocks !

The list of stocks provided at my HomePage represents my personal choice. I prefer well-moving stocks (even if a bit too volatile) to purely defensive, long-term stocks. The reasons is simple ... I attempt extracting maximum juice (read `profit`) out of intraday and swing movements, rather than from some rigid term investment. Also, my positions remain 100% `covered` ALWAYS ... even if that compromises some of my profits ! Cheers....

its an attempt to create panic deliberately.niit tech is a very investor friendly company which has distributed 65percent dividend for last two years.this is the only company which maintained post bonus divident payout of 65percent.the companys share price is quoting around 2 p/e.also its very strong fundamentals make it a superb buy....

BSE Announcements on NIIT Tech

Posted by : Guest

British Airways is a large customer of NIIT TECH. BA has only revised the deal. They are sending all on-shore people to off-shore so that they are able to cut cost. So management is coning the investor by saying, its a new deal.

Secondly Management says TTL and insurance are great verticles for the comany. What happened to Banking, if I amy ask. Till last year they were saying the Banking verticle is also a big but what happened? No significant contract for past 2 years. So now management has convinently dropped Banking as a growth story.

On TTL front, the head of TTL has resigned and moved on...so we are seeing flight of top management.

On insurance Mr Sharat Anand has been made head. This man is a genius when it comes to treasury and forex but has no clue of any aspect of banking or insurance. So here we see the lack of vision.

The only thing this company is working on is a 25 acre complex at Greater noida. So I value this company on the basis of land value + reserves it holds and as per my calculation the share price should not be more than Rs16.00. But consider some valuation of the existing relationship, I think Rs50.00 is a right value for this share.

One more thing that i wanted to share is - remember the promoters have lost 18/- earlier by subscribing to the warrants priced at 170-180/- . Now they are subscribing to the rights issue @ 96/- so their cost would come out to 114/- or so - but don`t forget they are buying from open market as well but not to the extent of what they got in rights issue - so even if we take the 5% limit for open market purchases their cost should come any where near 108-110 levels which is 25% higher than what the CMP is quoting.

So be sure to see the share price of this company anywhere near 110-115 levels once the market sentiments improve -

The promoters holding after the rights issue and from open market purchases would increase to 48-49%.

The company is sitting on 9000 crores of liquid treasury bills(which is equal to cash) and by fridays closing price the whole company is available for 14+K crores. STRANGE BUT TRUE.

So guys don`t be SHORT in it - and enjoy the ride(whenever it starts)

In reply to:

Right issue only to increse promotor holding

Posted by : shrenikbothra

Its been almost 36 hrs since the rights issue closed down and the management is yet to confirm (either on their website or at bse or nse) whether the issue has been fully subscibed or not - all the print media has been stating that the issue has been undersubscribed and hence should get dissolved - this will result in the scrip opening gap down - but i have a feeling that the promoters would try and garner what they can from the open market because of this artifically built sentiment - according to me i think the promoters shud come out with a statement only on tuesday stating that the issue has been fully subscibed - this should in turn boost the sentiment in the scrip and should give 10-15% return in the short term -

in short - Mr.Prabhu Deva don`t keep your SHORT positions OPEN for too long `cause it won`t be surprised that you may loose everything you earned -

Try and catch whatever you can tomm morning - and just sit tight - the investments would do wonders in the years to come . TRUST ME.

I think since LT capital gain is exempt u/s.10(38) hence LT capital loss on shares sold thru SE where STT has been paid is a total loss and cannot be carried forward. I hv to look into it.
So far Mr. Sandeep Shanbhag giving reply to my query is concerned, once I had posted to him a query and he has asked me to send him a DD for Rs.5000/- to get his reply.
Only ST capital loss can be carried forward to be adjusted against future capital loss.

Thanks for your views. It has cleared a lot of my doubts as to why dollar is gaining vs other European currencies.
US $ will lose half of its value over the next decade - surprising.
As rightly said by you, most of the exporters hv already booked them for 1-4 years at 40/- and now stand no chance to avail of this opportunity.
When I put this question to someone, doing forex business, he told me that Europe too will face financial problems going forward. Let us wait and watch....
