Ashu Madan, National Head of Religare is of the view that one shouldn't buy Tata Motors. The rising input costs and various negatives are inbuilt right now into the stocks and in the near future there is not anything positive for the stock.

the singur effect is already seen in stock now very small down can be possible. JLR has made profit. right portion willbe fill up by promoter, up their stake, Stock will jump high as it get good atmospere four to six month waiting one must get hand some retuen due to so many reasons...

Does any one know how to subsribe to the rights issue. I have Tata Motor Share through ICICIDirect Demat account. I am not able to figure out how to subscribe to those rights issue from ICICIDirect website.

Is it worth subscribing to the rights? I think the rights for Ordinary shares is priced at Rs.350 whereas the market price is below that. The rights for Ordinary A shares with differential voting rights are priced at Rs.305. Is that worth subscribing to either? If so, isn't it better to buy from the market at a discount rather than subscribing to the issue?
Will the shares with differential voting rights be listed too? What kind of valuation does one see for it vis-a-vis the Ordinary shares with full voting rights?

At 10:08 am, Tata Motors was quoting at Rs 359, down Rs 15.55, or 4.15% on the NSE. The company's rights issue is going to open today, reports CNBC-TV18. It was trading with volumes of 28,057 shares. On Friday the share closed down 2.46% or Rs 9.45 at Rs 374.55.

Yes; when the market is weak and automobile companies are not expected to report good numbers, the compay was expected to postpone the issue or reduce the price or allow paymemnt in instalments. General conditions cannot be ignored. The issue is not at all attractive for issue. With the US mess not solved one cannot be sure that the price will rise and reward applicants...

The market I think is concerned with the timing of rights issues. Investor sentiment is also weak. Based on these factors, i think the stock price may actually fall below the issue price
The Tata Motos rights issue opens today and closes on October 20. The rights issues that will raise Rs 4145 crore for Tata Motors will come in two parts.
On te other hand Hindalco\\`s right issue opened for subscription on September 22 and closes on October 10. The rights priced at Rs 96 per share, is in the ratio of three shares for every seven shares held, or 3:7. The flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group plans to raise Rs 5, 048 crore via the issue.
