Essar Oil to re-open its petrol pumps

Mellowing crude prices have brightened chances for private companies that had shut petrol pumps earlier this year due to high crude prices and subsidies given by public sector oil marketing companies. CNBC-TV18 has learnt from sources that Essar Oil is now looking to reopen its petrol pumps.

They were not `bin bulaye mehaman`. We invited them to join the party. Now they are deserting. We need to be impassionate as every one is rational in approach. Our MFs should do the same thing around the globe. Who stops them?
I only feel sorry for the genuine investor, whose portfolio is wiped out by 85%. When he will recover the loss? If there is long term loss, it can be set-off against long term gain, which are otherwise also non-taxable. Most of the small cap shares would go in coma for next two years. To that extent capital gets blocked. One should book profit in October only to remain liquid, as I feel that this is a last chance for the next 6 months at least....

The concept is ideal provided both parties are genuinely concerned for each other which is most likely at the corporate level under present situation. What happens at emploees\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\` level is difficult to guess at this point which will depend on various factors.Mr. Koul is right in his analysis however there are many more complexities at the ground level which is mostely related to emlpoyees\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\` satisfaction, inter personnel interactions, management behaviour, spot handling of conflicts, method of resolving conflicts etc.etc.
I feel an interairline manual addressing various issues mentioned above/anticipated and approved by DGCA or such state authority should be brought in and agreed between the parties and honestely implemented may the need of the situation....

Kingfisher, Jet Air enter into code sharing pact

I feel this is an arrangement made for the time being. The moment price of ATF comes back to what it was 1 year ago, these two airlines will start their own operations to overseas destinations. This arrangement is only a temporary measure to lift the falling stock prices of both companies. How can we talk about code sharing when one of the airlines does not operate any international fights except one to London.

Rationalizing the operations does not mean that this would lead to a merger in any dimension. Both are very strong operators, and would like to take share of their pie. I see this as move to make the operations efficient like petrolium industries keep sharing their pipelines for logistics....

When the markets were in shambles on September 29 the ICICI Bank stock was down 11.97% on rumours that the bank’s UK operations had exposure to the bankrupt Lehman Brothers. The bank’s UK subsidiary has an exposure of around USD 80 million, against which there are provisions of USD 12 million.
