Deccan Aviation Limited has informed the Exchange vide its letter dated September 29, 2008, that: "The last audited accounts of the Company adopted by the shareholders of the Company was for the accounting period 1st July, 2006 to 30th June, 2007. Subsequently, the commercial airline business of Kingfisher Training and Aviation Services Limited (erstwhile Kingfisher Airlines Limited) was de-merged and transferred into the Company (erstwhile Deccan Aviation Limited) pursuant to a Composite Scheme of Arrangement ("the Scheme") sanctioned by the Honble High Court of Karnataka at Bangalore. After the Honble High Court of Karnataka granted its approval to the Scheme, other approvals required for integrating the airline businesses effectively and as envisaged in the Scheme were obtained recently. The Company is now in the process of compiling and integrating the accounts of the two entities which have different "Financial Years" (Kingfisher Training and Aviation Services Limiteds accounting year ends on 31st March and the Companys accounting year currently ends on 30th June). The Board of Directors at its meeting today decided that it will be in the interest of shareholders as well as the Company to present one single financial statement to the shareholders commencing April 1, 2008, the Appointed Date under the Scheme of de-merger, and ending on 31st March, 2009. The Board was of the view that this will give the shareholders a transparent financial statement of the airline business post-integration. This will also enable the Company to synchronise its accounting year as April 1 to March 31 every year in the line with the uniform financial year of other Companies in the UB Group, of which the Company is a constituent. Accordingly, the Board of Directors resolved at the meeting held today that, the Accounting period for the Financial Year 2007-2008 shall be for a period of 9 months ie. from 1st July, 2007 to 31st March, 2008 instead of a 12 month period ie 1st July, 2007 to 30th June, 2008 and that, the subsequent financial years shall be from 1st April to 31st March. As stated vide our letter dated 10th July 2008, we did not publish the Un-audited Financial Results for the quarter ended 30th June, 2008 of the Company with a view to publishing the Audited Accounts before 30th September, 2008 in terms of the Listing Agreement. In the circumstances mentioned above, we will now be publishing the Un-audited Financial Results for the quarter ended 30th June 2008 and 30th September 2008 on or before 31st October 2008"....

Hi Aravindhanc,
Three cost components are important when looking in the aviation industry-
1 Investment in the aircrafts (buy/lease)
2.Oil
3.Staffing cost(airport taxes/charges,employees\\` cost,advertising etc)
Oil price is coming down +ve, Kingfisher has gone International +ve & aviation policy going +ve for all airlines.
The merger of air deccan & kingfisher into 1 entity will certainly improve the margins. It will enhance better staff management, hedging oil & Brand image building.
Look at the 52 week high and low of this scrip Its trading 7 times lower from its all time high. Life high Rs 350 odd to Rs 70 odd.
Good time to buy this stock
Cheers
