Is D.parekh -chairman to retire?

There is a speculative report presented by CNBC-TV18 correspondent, today, based on certain circumstances. Here is the report for the attention of our friends.
Is Deepak Parekh looking to retire as Chairman of HDFC? This is a bit speculative and we are drawing this inference based on two facts. There is some factual ground to this story, the first being that his current term does officially come to an end in February 2009. Secondly, there has been no extension of term that came up for approval by shareholders in the AGM that just went by.
Does that mean that Deepak Parekh at the end of February 2009 will not continue as the Executive Chairman of HDFC? HDFC said, “A term extension can be granted in the subsequent AGM after the term has expired.”
So there is nothing in the law that stops Mr. Parekh from being reappointed next year in February and then getting shareholders’ approval in the 2009 AGM. Parekh may be looking at a less hands-on roll at HDFC. He joined the company in 1978. He has been responsible for the kind of success that the company has had in many years. He has also led a very active life in the government. He is on numerous committees and is constantly consulting with the government on economic and macroeconomic issues. He has made very vibrant contributions to the social sector, both of which take up considerable amount of his time.
So there is a chance that Parekh may want less of an executive role and a more non-executive role from February 2009. We are speculating here, we don’t know what is going on in Mr. Parekh’s mind. But we are led to believe that there is a good chance that he may not want to continue as Executive Chairman of HDFC next year.
Pleae dont question me about IDFC? I have no news.

Abhipadival, from a analyst's point of view you are right but from invetors point of view you are not because
1NPA have increased exhorbitantly
2credit growth is sluggish
3net profits are down by 6%
next quarter CASA deposits will show a -ve or slowness
4 Body language of staff says many things and they feel discouraged
5branches are teeth less an for any thing, one has to go to call centre and no one at the branches to take care of the customers
branch outlay looks like as if they will wind up coz they sit behind tables serving as counters
charges are exhorbitant compared to HDFC BANK
