Dear micky madam,
Hi! My name is Prakruthi. Saccha is my brother. He had an accident last night. He is ok but is in no condition to type. He may not be able to communicate for at least another 8 weeks. He says he is glad your mom is fine now. Our grand mother is fine. He wants me to request you to say sorry to periwinkle madam for not sending at least a mail tomorrow. He says hello and thank you to Radhika madam for her post. He wants you to take care and keep spreading smiles.
Bye. ...

Good evening micky,
Yes, she is much better now. She is a tough lady, is my granny. And true to her nature, she is completely against the advice of her doctor who wants her to stay for few more days in the hospital just to be on the safe side. Fortunately, the doc is equally tough and right now we are watching the (strong but silent) clash of those two titans. I am no betting man, but if I have to bet, I will put my money on the doc in this case. That the good doctor has willingly postponed his holiday trip to keep a close eye on her (and few more of his patients) progress is what is tilting the odds in his favor. She will probably get discharged either on Sunday or Monday is what we think. Really, it is so nice to see the mischievous grin back on her face and the priceless twinkle back in her eyes!
By the way, I think it is Alisha Chenoy who sang that Tinka Tinka song.
Take care maam. I wish your mom speedy recovery.

Good evening micky,
Welcome back. Great post, as always. I would have welcomed you a bit earlier but my granny had other plans. She scared the hell out us by having a heart attack in the early hours of Saturday. She had an angio done on her, had a stent put in, kept under observation in ICU for thirty six hours and then moved to a special room early Monday morning. The first thing she asked me after she came through this entire ordeal was whether any Indian had won any medals at 08 Olympics yet or not. (She too is nuts over sports like me and gets a kick out of supporting the teams I oppose, except when Indians are playing…LOL) I was so relieved and happy when she asked me that question that I almost cried. Just an hour or so later, Abhinav Bindra made us all proud by winning gold. Coincidence? Perhaps. But we would like to think he did it for my granny. Before you ask, she is fine now thank you. She is presently bossing over all those poor ward boys, nurses and even doctors as if she owns the place, much to their amusement. Doc says we can take her back home some time this week.
Helplessly watching your loved one having a close encounter with death puts lots of things in perspective. The way we tend to take our loved ones for granted, the way we tend to procrastinate…
Geez! Before I get frightfully philosophical, I better stop. Besides, I gotta go. I will see if I can get permission from the doc to use their computer for few minutes, the way I did on Monday, when I managed a congratulatory post on Abhinav Bindra.
Have fun maam. Keep spreading smiles.

Abhinav Bindra won an Olympic gold!
It’s our first gold since 1980, I was told.
Made me proud to be a fellow Indian, he did.
His performance is nothing short of being splendid.

Never give up, is the message that is so well sent,
By this handsome amiable and bespectacled gent,
Dream big; never stop working towards realizing it,
Quitters never win and winners will never quit.

Let us join the nation in congratulating our hero,
High time our gold medal tally did not show a zero,
In life; be it sports, career, heath or relationships,
Not giving up is the key, and a bit of luck also helps.

CONGRATULATIONS DEAR ABHINAV BINDRA!

Dear nightowl,
Only a well wisher would have taken the trouble of pointing out my mistakes for me and that is what you have done maam. I should have realized that and taken your advice in right spirit. Instead I over reacted and caused you pain and I apologize for it. I sure deserve a kick in the butt for being such a silly fool. Please forgive. ...
