Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd has informed BSE that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on October 23, 2008, inter alia, has declared an Interim Dividend @ 7.5% i.e. Re 0.75 per equity share of Rs 10/- each for the year 2008-09....

The results for the Quarter ended September 30, 2008

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 668.50 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 1272.10 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2007. Total Income has decreased from Rs 1258.30 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 to Rs 1155.50 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008....

JP Hydro is in the business of Hydel Power. This is in less risky business, it has no risk of raw material cost flucutuations with revenues assured. If market stabilized(at any levels) and panic is out it will reach 50 mark.

We should not expect JPHydro to go above 100/- in Medium term even. Of course it can reach 50/- and above....

Your CP is way too high. I feel averaging is not going to be enough since you will end up spending a good chunk of your money. There are lot many good Large Caps like NTPC, Larsen are available at good price. If you have enough money to invest, then select them instead of betting on a Midcap like JP Hydro.

I also don`t suggest booking losses. Realize that only JP Hydro is not going down. Even some big players have shed more than 20 to 30% from their all time high.

Though it is difficult to predict whether you will see JP Hydro above 100 in the medium term, there is a fair good chance for this scrip to reach 50 to 70 levels when the sentiments change.

You can average out that time, if you believe in JP Hydro or you can move your investments to other scrips.

Think twice before booking loss since this is not a bad scrip.
