Grasim Industries Ltd has informed BSE that CRISIL has assigned following ratings to the Company for its various programmes:

- Rs 20 Billion Non convertible Debentures : AAA/ Stable

- Rs 40 Billion Long Term Bank Loan Facility : AAA/Stable

- Rs 6 Billion Short Term Debt Programmes : P1+

The Company already has rating from CARE for the above instruments who has assigned "CARE AAA" for Non convertible Debentures and Long Term Bank Loan Facility and "PR1+" for Short Term Debt Programmes. The Company now enjoys dual rating for its aforesaid, instruments.

Sales turnover in the last quarter rose 7%, marginal pressure on net profits was due to across the board state-imposed price restrictions and uniform increase of raw materials and power costs valid for other industry constituents. Its stock market quote tested Rs.1000 with no visible signs of heavens falling. Damage was not worth the cause whatsoever.
Stock must lead the price band for the general morale boost-up of all its sector peers.

Previous high of Rs.3870 was recorded when economy was booming. Company fundamentals are better now, only market should improve for new highs.

Grasim Industries Ltd has informed BSE that due to global slow down of economic activity and rising inflation the Textile Industry world wide has slowed down. Considering this along with the impact of recent financial crisis which has increased the trade credit risk factor, the Company has decided to curtail its production of Viscose Staple Fibre by approximately 30% from the current level between its Nagda (M.P.) and Kharach (Gujarat) plants. The Company will use this period for scheduled maintenance which is being preponed....
