30th June,�08 If I had started a RIL Rs10000 pm SIP in Jan �05 � I would have got 396 RIL shares by May�08 end of market value of Rs989550/- at total cost of Rs411300/-. A neat profit of Rs578250/- Alternatively, If I had sold half of my shares in mid of Aug�06 I would have recovered 145000/- of my investment. (of course I would have continued my SIP !). If I had sold off half of my shares I would have recovered Rs344000/- of my investment and I would have 118 shares totally free plus Rs138500/- in my pocket!! By May�08 I would have 145 shares totally free of cost and I would have Rs77500/-in my pocket for further SIP investment. Now I am totally converted to SIP. No more watching CNBC for me, no more reading messages on moneycontrol messageboard , no more Bollinger bands, MACD, RSI or SOT! No more heart burns when market falls when I buy a share or a market rise after I sell ! ( A very common occurrence , you will agree !) Just a lot of time on hand to pursue my other interests !
