Nifty may sustain above 2,850 level
The major support mentioned last week for the Nifty was 2,500, where one could have expected the index to make a temporary bottom. Indeed, the index seems to have taken temporary support at the 2,500-level following a strong surge in trading in the last one hour on Friday.
Following three days of losses in the preceding week, the Nifty declined for four more days, making it a seven-day losing streak wherein the index hit a low of 2,503, before bouncing back sharply on Friday with a 140-point gain.
The index touched a high of 2,835 at the start of the week, but then shed 333 points at the low point of week, and finally settled with a loss of 117 points at 2,693. In the process, the index also registered its second straight weekly loss.
Trading activity is likely to be hectic this week also. Thankfully, the overseas cues have been positive, which should lead us to a good start. However, going forward, the derivatives expiry and hopes of some policy announcement from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will keep investors on their toes.
Technically, the index is likely to give a minimum 200 points, pullback from the current levels, i.e. we could move up to 2,885 levels, above which the index may surprise us with a rally right up to 3,200-mark. However for a sustained upmove, the index needs to trade firmly above the 2,850-mark. It may re-test the 2,500-mark and may even break it this time around.
The bollinger bands continue to get narrower — 2,450 to 3,190. The mid-term (50-day) daily moving average (DMA) at 3,411 continues to remain above the short-term (20-day) DMA at 2,824, which is a negative sign.
The Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex moved in a range of more than 1,100-points. From a high of 9,436, the index slumped to a low of 8,316 and then finally settled with a loss of 470 points at 8,915. The index support of 8,550 mentioned last week was easily violated due to a gap down opening on Thursday.
After having gained a whopping 42 per cent (3,248 points) from its October low of 7,697, to a high of 10,945, the Sensex in the last two weeks has retraced 81 per cent of its gain as the index hit a low of 8,316. The probability of the index breaking below 8,300-mark remains high. While on the upside, the index needs to sustain above the 9,800-mark for more upside.

India can and will survive global economic crisis: PM
NEW DELHI: India can and will survive the global economic crisis, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Friday.
Prime Minister said at a conference in the Capital, “Competitive politics must not be allowed to divide our society on religious and caste lines.”
He added, “We have the ability to sustain growth rate of eight per cent and we will do so.”
Earlier, he expressed confidence that India will be a land of free, knowledge-empowered people.

no you are not ignorant.. noone dies of hunger in punjab.. it is a relatively rich agricultural state.. sindhis are kanjoos, or so my daughter tells me.. shes been seeing a sindhi for 2 years now..
gujaratis are very hard working and kanjoos and manipulative... this i am saying with rgards to business.. not character..unlike a punjabi, who will try to show off more than he has.. which is why very few punjabis make it to the top.. all remain above in the comfortable zone, but dont have the foresight to get mega big..

Hi guys,
As I am new to F&O, I have bought 2 lots of Nifty Put 2600 at a price of Rs. 75 on Friday of 27th Nov`08. As markets picked up rally on Friday before close and also US markets rallied on Friday, I have a feeling that coming Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday might again see rallies higher and Nifty 2600 will go down from its current price of Rs. 52. As my funds are at risk with a total loss of almost 15K, could anyone advise my next move, what I should do? Whether I should sell of on Monday morning or wait until the expiry date and take risk?
Kindly advise!
Thanks....

Is that so? If bangaloreans came to chandigarh to set up business they would get up from underneath their blankets.. here they take off from work school etc if they see a little fog in the air... i came to know i have knees after the winters in bangalore.... lol lol.. its biting cold for us here and i am wearing a sweater for this cold.. u might laugh, but we bangaloreans cannot take heat or cold..we cannot work too hard and we cannot do without films or restaurants.... we may have to be rehabilitated shortly coz all opportunites for us here have been taken by other communiites. lol lol
btw if u took a drive thru bangalore it would be sight for sore eyes... lovely pink november flowers linign all raods.. no leaves whatsoever just pink flowers on all trees... its divine and stil i see folks driving blindly thru such an avenue... so what different does it make if manmohan singh converted our country to an english county or maintains the status of malgudi.. lol lol. these blind as bats thick skinned citizens have no eye for beauty and i am stunned by their attitude.... i just cannot comprehend such apathy for beauty. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

we are neither.. not like the west nor like ektaa kapoor...
we live in a world which is a wonderful mix of both..
we are all together yet nobody interferes..
we wear what we want , eat and drink what we want, have parties which end at 4 in the morn... (very occasionally)in other words we are the perfect blend.. but.. like all small towns.. it has its drawbacks too, it is a very gossipy town...so one has to be that lil careful...and circumspect..
the children have all gone to school to welhams, doon, bishop cotton, and sanawar aucky and chelsea,, so they are totally different breed to their parents.. however both sunny and i have public school backgrounds so, we are relatively easy parents..
we have our lil kitty aprties too.. and cards on weekends since most women are working.. yes they work here too.. i was working for 14 long years with block printing, and my boutique.. till my daughter fell sick.. after which i closed the unit to look after her.. today all is well with her.. and shes turned out to be an exasperating child, but a stunner to look at...\
Karan, my son, is relatively more conservative.. more so than either sunny or me, or my daughter.. i call him a typical; amritsari boy.. but hes a good child.. god has blessed me.. and i thank him everyday for that..
i lived in london for 5 long years before i married rn
you just get used to a lifestyle.. its no hard work after a while.. its a part of life there.. i would hate to live there now.. but when i got married 38 yrs ago.. i really missed london.. not so anymore...
Love

Birdie,
Is ur family then like the hindi serials khandani families i watch on TV.. did u see JAB WE MET.. i watched the joint family (kareena kapoor`s in the film) with so much interest.... but thats not what the Ekta kapoor serials portray... so exactly where do ekta kapooor type of joint families reside??? On the one hand we have such families like ekta kapoor and on the other hand i just got to see a clip where in a lady in US is driving 100 km thru snow in the evening (its dark like night at this time of the year there) to get back home to feed her hungry kids who are drinking cold pepsi and eating cold cake in that biting cold until she can come and prepare some hot dinner for them... she has to drive 100 km in biting cold, she has no maids and she has to work else she will be on the streets... how can i survive in such situtaion.. impossible for me...wonder how they manage it.. and if ekta kapoor`s indian women went to live in such places they would think the SAAS` atrocities are better than the atrocious american lifestyle....

Dear Radhikaji,
Your impression is wrong. I (bengali) love mysore pak and all my south indian friends know it. Whenever we meet, they don`t forget to bring Mysore Pak for me.
Rosogolla is the only sweet which is made of pure milk. You can`t mix any impure ingredient there. That is the uniqueness of this sweet.
On the otherhand, taste of Good Mysore Pak is great! It just melts in the mouth with smell of ghee! But bad Mysore Pak is the worst sweet I have ever had.
Rosogolla can`t be so inconsistent! But the canned Rosogolla are not so good in taste.

I dint mean that way.. its nice to know ur all proud about ur heritage... but when i meet up with my bengali neighbors and discuss sweets they will always talk lovingly about ROSOGOLLOAS with that O O O mouth shape that i wonder whats wrong with the other sweets and how many rosogollas they can eat.... i mean here i am talking about mysore pak and they simply dismiss it and talk about rosogollas but i feel they are so dry my mysore pak soaked in ghee is so much better.

Is it necessary to show your skeleton to everybody..
Most of the people are aware about the current situation in WB..
Like you, I also have been forced to come out of WB..
However, negative mindset won`t improve things.
When the situation reaches the nadir, there is only one way to go i.e upwards..
Cheers..

Because their community feeling is/was so high!! they love gossip a lot!!! (tea and gossip is like `Amrita`).
BUT it has been changing due to social-economic factors. How will you have tea if one does not have money!

In the United States (and maybe all around the world), there is a renewed interest in angels. People are thinking about them and surrounding themselves with images of them. Angels seem to have gained respect and appreciation and their wings are their most famous and valuable characteristic. Wings are associated with flying, which in turn is associated with freedom and the heavenly domain.
Dreaming about wings suggests that you may have a desire to be "angelic," have a need for angelic protection, or want to transcend any current difficulties and problems. Consider the mood of your dream and what type of wings you were seeing. If they were animal wings, look up birds. Superstition based dream interpretation books say that if you hear gentle flopping of wings you will hear good news. However, loud and powerful flapping of wings is said to be a warning against illegal or immoral activities, specifically those in which money is involved.

I agree. I too like my home-town, that is why I tied to settle there several times.
But it has become so stagnant that at least one generation will have to sacrifice. And I don`t want my daughter to sacrifice!

every state has its own eccentricities.. if u go to chennai and see them with their gold and kanchipuram sarees during hot summer months u will feel dehydrated....
i went to punjab once and had a lot of parathas (they call it paraNthas lol lol whatever that N for)then i got such a severe dry cough coz of all the maida i had to rush home to eat my bisbele baath
Then i went to kerala and they gave me all dishes cooked in coconut oil and their water would have cardomom.. and the fish smell it was unbearable for me.
I went to AP and there they poured so much of ghee i thought my digestive tract would be a skating rink.
So like this i went everywhere and when i came back and tasted the Vidyarthi Bhavan dosa with mysore coffee and mysore pak i felt divine bliss.... and when another kannadiga customer says BADI MAGANE SET DOSA THINU.. .OR BA ONE BY TWO COFFEE KUDIYONA i feel i have arrived..
