NTPC seems holding well in the current turbulent market. The stock may show good upsurge no sooner the market sentiment picks up.

Your gesture was very correct. Today also even with some positive indications the markets all over globally fell badly. Generally small investors do not have the courage, ability and capacity to tackle such continually falling market situations. What do the knowledgeable persons follow at such times ? ...

After the bill is passed, the DOW industrials fell by another 157.47 points. That is the way market is played and money is made by knowledgeable(!) persons.

Do not expect spectacular shows on Monday! Be cautious. Save your capital, if you can.

Good posting. The moment DOW fell after the bill was passed, it showed that some drastic fall in our markets will also happen. Its like someone telling - go sell and bring home some money, no matter what the loss is....

Let us hope for the best. We may not be able predict precisely, but while reacting to the market sentiment can certainly act wisely for individual benefit and not that the very action turns out to be detrimental. Every buy action brings in hope, whereas a sell action can be either in panic or with the intention of profit taking i.e. after having lost any further hope from the stock. Every investor`s action is generally based on some logic and for personal benefit. All the best....

According to CNBC discussions amongst experts, the bailout package was stated to be `too little too late`. Some (including Mr. Buffett), said that this package was essential and good for the US Economy. They were also discussing that any different treatment for this crisis in the US would have far reaching implications for the World Economy in general and the European economies in particular.

You can expect a DOW/ Nasdaq rebound on Monday.

Are the knowledgeable persons or the experts able to give exact reasons for the yesterday`s fall at the Dow Jones ? Individual stocks gain or fall due to some specific reasons, so accordingly the indices fluctuate. At the markets there are also some other forces at play, not necessarily all have some logical reason, all forces together make the market sentiment and with that the trend. When the market starts reviving, profit booking will gain momentum, every action contributes differently to the market behaviour. In general one can be simply a hopeful spectator.

The US financial crisis has affected the markets globally. The bail out in US, the nuclear issues and tie ups getting sorted out, crude prices falling down etc., all these factors should be enough to boost the market sentiment, the markets will hopefully start recovering now onwards. ...
