Hindalco Industries Ltd. has informed the Exchange that the Annual General Meeting of the Company has been fixed for September 19, 2008. The Dividend on Equity Shares and 6% Preference Shares of the Company, as recommended by the Board of Directors of the Company, when sanctioned at the Annual General Meeting of the Company will be made payable on or after the September 19, 2008....

My impression when I contacted the Share Dept of Hindalco early this week is that the Record Date for Right Issue entitlement is yet to be fixed, as the ratio was finally decided only in the Board Meeting of 14-8-08. The RD of 5th Sept 08 is for entitlement of Div.of 185% announced and for AGM. We have to wait for the same.
If someone has clear info on the RD date, please share the same in this column....

As books will be cosed on 5 th sept you are eligible for rights issue.

If you have bought Hindalco at such a high price and when the share has fallen almost to its support level, hold it and apply for some additional shares in right issue so that your avg will come down....

Hindalco Industries has approved to issue price of the rights issue shall be Rs 96 per equity share that is face value of Rs 1 per equity share and at a share premium of Rs 95 per equity share. The ratio of the rights entitlement will be three equity shares for every seven equity shares held by the shareholders instead of one share for every three shares announced by the company earlier. The company will close its book on Sept 5, 2008 for the purpose of entitlement of the said rights issue.
