The banks chairman and other top management did the media circuit the last couple days - Almost all tv stations carried the interviews with the bank management.

Management has done a good job to assure investors and account holders (I am one too - pvt client group).

It would have been nice, if the bank just gave one statement - where it comes out clean and lays all the cards on the table - face up.

The management has categorically denied that exposure to US Sub prime is `NONE" - and only a tiny bit has exposure to USA and they have said all their Lehman investments are "investment grade".

In these markets - even investment grades lose a lot of value - It is in the interest of the Bank to come clean and disclose - the type of "investment grade" securities they are invested in.

Unless this is done - it will be under a patch of dark cloud (not the Candlestick chart pattern).

What say you account holders and stock holders?...

If the human were perfect , there is no way in the whole world there could be an economic crisis like this. Checks and balance are only in paper. If the checks and balances were so good, then Lehman would have not faced this situation. Anything can happen in the current scenario, not necessarily executed by your recruits alone...

There is a systems check in place ... they just can`t do a `Lehman` to me ... instructions & operatives remain mine ... they will simply execute them many more times a day, than what I can do alone single-handedly. They will just be handling two of my subsidiary DEMAT accounts where the daily cash/margin etc are limited for the day. Each of the two recruits have been charged a `caution deposit` equal to the amount they are allowed to transact in a day. They remain laible and answerable for all AVOIDABLE losses ... Lehman type salary doesn`t come on easy terms you see !

A friend of mine lost heavily today. He was cheerful with today loss. I just asked him why he is not feeling bad. He said," I am thankful to GOD, he made me to incur loss today so that some one else gets a profit and thus giving that other person one more day to live. There is no other greatness other than preventing another humab being getting killed in whatsoever"...

I need to be a far more abmbitious trader now ... I`ve two new recruits now who expect a Lehman type of salary ...I have agreed on `performance linked bonus` on the condition that they don`t lead me to Lehman`s fate !

I had been repeatedly telling there would not be any flights to transport Indian back to India. Slowly this situation is started. Today Jet Airways, Kingfisher and Air India have cancelled flights to US. Will this happens with other airlines too and Indian getting stranded in US

The video of Samninathan`s CNBC Awaz interview is available on home page pstl dot in. He has mentioned they will comfortably achieve 40% growth rate this year taking consolidated revenue to about 1400 crores for the group and also margins should improve as they have cut unprofitable areas (eg North India ops and Hindi film distribution). Even if the maintain at 10% margin this year then consolidated EPS should be 45 which means current PE is about 1.5...

The chairman stated on CNBC Awaz (video available on homepage pstl. that Nirmal and other promoter had invested in very early stages of evolution of the company (company was formed in 1997). If that`s a fact issuing shares to PE investor like Nirmal at 10-15 is justified. for eg the previous Chairman Pyramid Natarajan himself held only about 8 lac shares which he sold to Saminathan at 450 in Apr 2008. So majority shareholder unitl now was Nirmal amongst the promoter group (30%) which he sold to Saminathan 5% at 250 and now rest 25% at 200.

Questions remain on the source of funds for Saminathan to acquire this big chunk. Of course since SEBI has approved ther inter se promoter transfer the books should be clean or atleast ensured so. Such things are common. Even Mukesh had allegations of insider trading from SEBI for offloading 4% stake of RPL at 228 but he came out clean. ...

The game plan was very clear. Just three months before the public issue was made shares were alloted to an extent of 40% of the equity at a rate of Rs.10 to Rs.20 per share. This will have a lock in period of one year. In this case it was upto January 2008. Meanwhile drive the share price and Nirmal Kotecha started unloading his shares from Jan 2008 onwards. This has happened in SEL Manufacturing also where in August 2008 the scrip completed one year of listing . The price started crashing from 691 to Rs.150 when Nirmal Kotecha started selling his shares. SEBI is an organisatioin without any teeth to bite. It is there to suck the small investors.
