yes, company has to have substance which gets reflected in stock price. a statement saying that they will make 000 mw of power without any actually made is what one should see. why buy a company yet to make operational cash flows when better companies which are already running are available.
ask yourself - did ntpc promotors make preferential allottment to themselves at lower price than to ind share holders as did reliance power.
greed my friend is one of the 7 deadly sins - be wise and stay away from such companies & let them be bought by people who have 500 year investment horizon not even 5 years

when market crashes, companies stock prices crash many folds...don`t forget that...then it becomes easy to give a buy call for 5 years and anybody will become richer. there is no doubt about that my dear.

Of the two Ambani Siblings, I think Anil is more mature and wants to prove to wrold he has something in him, If politics is taken out of the current situation, Anil Ambani would take this company to new high, and dont be surprised if this company makes u richer by any kind of imagination in another 5 years

Jayaram Chalasani, of Reliance Power said that 600-mw power plant Rosa Stage I is getting commissioned. As per the scheduled it is suppose to come in March and June of 2010. The progress is much ahead of schedule. We expect the first unit would be commissioned sometime in September 09 and the first revenue will flow in Q4FY09....

With RIL gas connected price, but that looks more of dream
