Ispat Group’s Balasore Alloys plans to increase its ferrochromium capacity by 150% to 250 kt/y and add 100 kt/y of manganese alloy capacity over the next two years.

Mr RK Jena joint MD of Balasore Alloys Limited has recently explained about the plans to expand the capacities for production of ferroalloys, to set up the countermeasures for raw materials and to increase the facilities for generation of electric power.

Mr Jena outlined the structure to produce 150,000 tonnes per annum of ferrochrome, 100,000 tonnes per annum of manganese ferroalloys, 250,000 tonnes per annum in total of ferroalloys, by means of constructing new electric furnaces and expanding capacities of the existing electric furnaces...

Thanks, I am surprised by the confidence you had shown for the management of Shanthi gears, had you been tracking the story of stake sales in the last two years from Coimbatore you would have noticed that there was atleast 4 to 5 good companies who had wanted to either buy stakes or a JV, to name recent ones ,Suzlon & Hansen. What happened to all such offers, they went into cold storage, abviously due to poor & conservative management approach and understanding to the solution required to bring in the required structural changes for Shanthi gears. Anyhow I had sold some and some I am holding after your advise , thanks once again...

I agree with maky. This is a good stock to keep-Suzlon or no Suzlon. clearly it is along term stock. So patience is the virtue....

What happened to your 15th by both parties, Suzlon will not be able to form a JV with shanthi gears, wait for the SEBI guidance on FDI & P.note and see the positive approach by FII and then a sudden sell of stakes by shanthi gears to this colgromerate....
