Dear Sir,

So you think that since ICICI Bank has raised minimum average balance in its Savings Account, it is in trouble. Earlier SBI has minimum balance criteria of Rs 500 and it raised to Rs 1000, so SBI is in trouble.

By raising MAB amount Bank only wants to increase the float in Saving & Current accounts, which are at 3.5 and 0% interest rate. This is a way to get low cost deposits and earn other income. This will make ICICI Bank only more profitable.

Also, ICICI Bank may have a strategy to focus on customers who can keep Rs 5000 as MAB and discourage other customers below that level as cost of one transaction at bank counter is Rs 60/- and by keeping Rs 1000 MAB you can not service them properly. Also, it is well known researched fact in Banking Sector that top 20% accounts give 80% profit, next 40% given 20% profit and last 40% are a load on bank. So, this strategy can only make ICICI Bank more profitable.

The top 200 senior management employees are cream of Indian Banking Sector and they have all the necessary wherewithal to make ICICI Bank largest Indian bank by 2010 March 31.

Please understand that ICICI Bank is an iconic banking institution which changed the way banking is done in India be it ATM Card, Debit Card, Credit Card, Corporate Lending, Project Finance, 8 to 8 Banking, Internet Banking etc. They are the leader of change management of this century in India and can not be written off so easily by rumour mongering by some people. Please note that living on top always creates envy among competitors. You will be surprised to know that by balance sheet size ICICI Bank was 6 times bigger that HDFC Bank as of 31st March 2008, its closest rival, the second ranking private sector bank in India after ICICI Bank.

Regards,

Sunil ...

dear sunil,

1)If ICICI bank is doing fine, why did they increase minimum balance for savings account from Rs.5000/- to Rs.1000/-( pls remember that fine in failing to maintain that minimum balance is really high at Rs.700/- levels)?

Are you aware that fine was just Rs.50/- in the year 2001 and then was increased to some Rs.300/- plus levels in 2003 and later to Rs.700/- levels in the same year?

In 2001 ICICI bank was quite small compared to present levels.To my knowledge economies of scale helps any organization cut prices on their services and why has it been the other way round in the case of ICICI?, had every thing been fine!

2)Regarding DLF and others in realty space: Realty prices in India went up to such levels which seem to be on par or costlier than those countries which have 50 to 60 times per capita income compared to India...

To what extent do you think the prices can go up without resulting in any demand destruction?

Allready the present rentals are making many businesses particularly the smaller ones commercially unviable.Do you have any idea that any further upside movement in realty prices will result in businesses becoming commercially unviable making the entire economy collapse?

And higher rentals and higher unit prices, made many residential properties of organized realty sector unaffordable , are resulting in severe crisis for realty companies.

If that is the case.. how do you think investment in counters like DLF will fetch very good returns when there are many other sectors and counters which are yet to witness growth and far from reaching maturity stage in their business cycles?

3)Regarding IT sector in general and TCS in specific:

First let us look at the root causes of the problems in US.

Many barrowers failed to repay their loans.

But why they defaulted? It was b`coz they didnt have jobs.

But why didnt they have jobs?It was b`coz of outsourcing.

So to survive from the present crisis, US has to stop encouraging any further outsourcing and should take measures to reverse outsourcing( already plans are very much on cards).So to do that they will let Dollar fall to very lower levels.

When that happens..it will be a double whammy for Indian IT companies.

First one is .. there wont be endless amounts of linear growth which they witnessed in the past.

Second one is..shrinking of NPMs.

In such scenarios, i fail to understand how can one make any profits by investing in TCS or Infy!

regards

Already he is on an Egyptian tour to dig Pyramids for the next BOD selection.

Once the amount is paid and the money for the share is recovered from the account of the share holder then the process is on. The particular share will be under transit. The company collects all information and issue share. These bonus shares will be in the pool account. There may be thousands of shares in the pool account. The concerned broker in this particular case ICICIDIRECT has to sort this out and issue the bonus shares to the individuals. Here ICICIDIRECT is the broker cum Banker for the share holders.

Regarding ICICIDIRECT all the calls made to them in this regard might not have been answered by the Bank officials. Most of these banks outsource such services and person sitting on the desk may not be that competent to answer these questions. The bonus issue will be known very soon and if there is discrepancies can be taken up even at later stages.

In this recent rally the most hit bank share is ICICI and customers also feel unsafe as such I feel they will be more polite handling such disputes

as per exchanges settlement cycle whatever purchases are made on 29th and 30 sept credit of shares will be made on 3rd oct and it is a full proof arrangement no one can deny about it however by chance if short delivery comes then in this case closeout method is to be followed so you will get back entire money with some addtional money due to closeout exchanges transfer shares to broker account and borker transfers shares to client s account on the same day if payment is made for the same however in your case shares may be lying in their account and they are telling lie about the same sometimes broker says that you are eligible for bonus but due to time factor we will you this shares with bonus shares generally this of system is followed in both the exchanges do not panic if you do not get you can fight out in many ways with the help of exchange sebi etc.

it will touch 300 for sure. just hold on and buy at 300-280 levels. it has lot of things to prove. it has a huge debt of 2000 crores and also over valued stock, no track record after listing. only 1 quarter`s results have been declared after listing. it has a long way to go. it will have to prove a lot of things to the stock market.

Dear BB,

The love or hatred we have for Paddu is directly proportional to TD share price with the base at 50.If he doesn`t bring us money,he is a sani.
But the transformation would be slightly different from what you have mentioned

At:

15= Paddu*******

30=Paddu

50=Padmanabhan

75=Mr.Padmanabhan

100=Shri.Padmanabhan

200=Poojya Shri.Padmanabhan Esq

300= Ponmana Chemmal (means a great soul with Golden heart)

500 and above=
Dai! Evanda avan enga thalaivara peyr solli azhaikirathu?
(When we see some newcomer refers to him by name;
meaning how dare you call our leader by his name?)

Its a mad mad mad mad world!

dear googol,

promoter paddu must be singing this old hit :

`pal bhar ke liye koi hame pyar kar le...jhoota hi sahi`

well paddu has been ridiculed so much that if by chance he is able to generate substantial wealth for the shareholders, which I feel is not impossible, then he may become a cult figure. Everyone will start worshipping/praising him. From paddu he will become paddy & then Shri Padmanabhan.

revaluation of reserves & assets of supertanery

we are shareholders of supertannery for more than 10 years and now time has come that management should consider revaluation of reserves and assets of this 50 years old company as per my assessment last revaluation would have been done in year 1993 when supertannery came out with their first and last ipo at rs 65 per share so almost 15 years have passed and therefore management is requested to disclose current valuations of supertannery to their shareholders as per my assessment the current valuations of complete infrastructures of supertannery 5 nos of plant locations will not be less than 100 to 150 crores which includes land & building valuations,plant & machineries whereas total market capitalisation of supertannery shares as on date is just 15 crores only based on revaluated value of 100 to 150 crores assets revaluated book value and nav of supertannery share will be rs 80 per share whereas its market rate is just rs 9 only
as per my above assessment supertannery share is most undervalued stock which is available cum bonus at ratio 1:1
i again request management that since allotment of bonus shares already approved in agm held on 30.9.2008 they should immidiately forward bonus shares to their shareholders and should also fix record date of bonus shares by end of this month as per general practice of listed companies...

SBI and TATASTEEL are the epitome of corporate governance and social responsibility. Go to Jamshedpur and find out for yourself. You can`t compare them with pariahs like ICICIBANK. The only ones to blame for this mess other than ICICIBANK are FM and RBI, who lied all along and feigned ignorance to save their skin, overlooking the interests of depositors and their hard earned money....

In reply to:

FIGHT OF PSU VS PRIVATE

Posted by : PRABHU_DEVA

All these drama is created by persons those want to take money out from private bank to get into psu bank in this tight economy. today i got many rummeros about AXIS bank and HDFC bank.

are u sure that your psu bank is safe ?

01 SBI also has lehman exposer

02 Psu bank provides largest social loans to poor person of our country with no income and no proper gurentee and time to time they are bailed out by goverment many times and recent farmer loan waiver is the example for this

03 SBI provided 10000 crore loan to TATA STEEL for corus now tata steel share fallen from 1000 rs to 200 rs but no body says that sbi will be ruined if TATA goes burst where as if icici has given loan to any company wich also has good record and profitable only because its share value has fallen

the FII holding in icici was large that is hurting it and the short sellers in F&O segment are making rummors. Believe me if ICICI bank or any other indian bank goes burst then total india story will burst.

DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY LIC HAS INVESTED IN INDIAN MARKET. IS IT SAFE?

NO INDIAN BANK IS GOING TO BURST NEITHER PSU NOR PRIVATE

do not panic remain long in all bank counter this is not usa. and if there is a risk ? then it is for every bank.

IF PAKISTAN GOES BURST THEN HOW MUCH INDIA, USA , CHINA, ETC. ARE SAFE?

this is a crises of confidance and if goverments are declaring bankcruptcy then how can be any thing safe even your post office saving even psu bank saving even your currency do you believe in your currency ? all these are rubbish things give some time every thing will be normal

Dear Ramgebhai,

MOD is Justice personified.

He is impartial

Before joining here he was serving as an Inspector in a Police station when a case of pickpocket was brought to him by the victim.The inspector gave a patient hearing to both, got convinced that the victim was right and so divided the money in the purse in to three equal portions and gave one each to the victim and the culprit.

He would soon be awarded by the management as soon as ICICI bank files a defamation suit against CNBC-TV 18.

Regards,...

GBhai,

My Take on this is slightly different. How many people have prayed to God and how many have their wishes granted? (LOL)

The day before SKotak`s ID was crying to the Mod to get me off his tail. (ROFL)

Lo and Behold in the morning the Mod Answered his prayers and issued a warning. Now the criminal is cooling his heels waiting to start the next round of abuse.

So lets put it this way. God is there or not there, the Mod is there (ROFL) for racketeers.

Both God and Mod are not there for genuine investors.
cheers
