It is the birthday of the second President of India, academic philosopher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. It is considered a \"celebration\" day, where teachers and students report to school as usual but the usual activities and classes are replaced by activities of celebration, thanks and remembrance. At some schools on this day, the responsibility of teaching is taken up by the senior students as an appreciation for their teachers.
Happy Teacher\'s Day ...
wish you all

The Vision
Paul Charlillo
I thought being raised in a devout Roman Catholic family would give me the faith and courage to face any hardship a young man of nineteen would be asked to bear, but I quickly realized that nothing can prepare a young man for war.
Originally assigned to a supply division during World War II, I found myself at the front when the generals began stripping the rear units for more replacements to cover their heavy losses. As part of Patton’s Third Army, I joined up with a squad that spearheaded the American advance through France. Our job was to probe the front line, looking for the enemy. Hitching rides on the back of tanks and armored vehicles, we drove through many French towns, all the time pushing back the German troops. When we made contact, my squad would deploy on the flanks, setting up a fifty-caliber machine gun, and wait for our infantry to close in. The German soldiers were first rate; well trained, highly disciplined and unwilling to give up their conquered territory, they fought viciously in retreat. We were always a prime target, and German artillery fire was deadly accurate. Many buddies, as well as guys I barely knew, were hit. I lived moment to moment, always in fear of being the next GI carried out. This pattern persisted day after day. Village after French village was leveled in our effort to push the enemy out, towns and cities reduced to smoldering rubble. Witnessing all the destruction—seeing guys like me, getting killed or wounded—I despaired that I would ever see my home and family again. The ruined French towns were also filled with civilians looking for lost loved ones, digging through debris for anything that might help them live. Through all of this chaos, I prayed constantly for the strength to continue. Dog-tired, constantly on the move, alert every minute to the possibility of enemy fire and numb to the violence surrounding me, I was drained of all hope for my survival.
As we approached the German border after endless months of fighting, one last nameless French village lay ahead. A recent artillery exchange had left the town another smoking wreck, and we probed cautiously forward. Riding in the back of a half-track, my vision obstructed by the haze from still-burning fires, I caught a glimpse of a bombed-out Catholic church. There, on the only standing wall, was a crucifix, the body of Christ, arms still outstretched, eyes lifted to the heavens, untouched by the destruction around it. I could see the wounds Jesus had received at the hands of a different enemy, but he had been left perfectly safe from this battle. I instinctively made the sign of the cross, tightened my helmet strap another notch and gripped my rifle even firmer. If he had made it through, I could make it through. Although almost destroyed by the harsh reality of war, now I was able to continue. I carried this sight within my heart and mind into many more battles through the war, and then safely home. The image has never left me....

“Gonna be another hot one today,” I complained to my husband.
“Yeah, those Santa Ana winds are really blowin’.”
I hated these “devil winds,” as they are called by local Southern Californians. They made people cranky and forest fires rage, not to mention drying out my skin and hair, and making me an irritable mess. I also feel cheated. Just when I should be pulling my sweaters out of mothballs and watching the trees change into their fall dresses, here I am dealing with hot, dry, itchy weather.
“Maybe tonight we can head down to the pier,” my husband, Paul, yelled as he ran out the door to work.
“Ah, relief will come,” I said to no one in particular, although the dog did lift his head off the floor long enough to sigh. I had forgotten the one perk of this season: going to the beach in autumn. That was always our one salvation from the oppressive heat of the dry desert winds.
As promised, Paul made it home on time, and after a light dinner, we drove the four miles to the ocean.
For some reason, the beach never failed to thrill and entice me. You’d think since I was raised a Southern California beach girl, I would be used to its charms by now. But no, the ocean at night, the waves crashing on the shore, the moon glistening off its surface, always seemed magical and mysterious.
And so, on this balmy fall evening, Paul and I linked arms and joined the mass of humanity looking for a spot on the pier to cool off. We passed families fishing together, lovers embracing, the single person staring out to sea, and couples laughing, just out for a stroll. One thing was certain—in their own way they were all enjoying the ocean’s gifts, such as the cool breeze, the salty spray, and an inner calm beyond description.
Below us, surfers rode the waves, children tried to outrace the foaming tide, and others dug for either clams or buried treasure. Who knew?
“It’s too crowded up here,” Paul called over the gull’s cries and the squeals of the children. “Let’s go down on the sand.”
“Okay,” I replied.
As we descended the steps to the sandy bottom, thoughts flashed through my brain. I remembered years long past when Paul and I cuddled around a beach fire-pit, lingering kisses on a beach blanket while the waves lapped the shore, and how we gazed into each other’s eyes over the fire.
“Hey, a penny for your thoughts. You look a hundred miles away,” Paul asked.
“Oh, I just realized how much the beach has played a part in our love life.”
“Well, let’s not stop now,” Paul said, taking me in his arms.
As we kissed I shut my eyes and felt the breeze caress my shoulders, the hot “devil winds” long forgotten. I knew right then I was in the arms of my two loves—my husband and the beach.

When Pakisthan could transfer the nuclear technology to Terrorist world wide, what condition is that India should not test any further. Is it not pledging India interest in the hands of US.

dear, dont think like a frog in a well, try to come out of this well and see how this world is developing, if u cannot do that..atleast dont stop others from doing it....we were a poor nation but and to become a developed nation, we need to take bold steps and energy plays an imprtant role in it... .....we need to try to compete with the developing nations like taiwan,korea.., see the way they are developing, learn from them and we need to develop ourselves, but bcoz of some pesstimistic minds, who say that we cannot develop, we are still here
