The intensity of this market correction has ensured that even titans such as BHEL bite the dust.
The 61.8 per cent (Fibonacci retracement) of this structural up-move gives us the next long-term support at Rs 1,145.
Subsequent support exists at March 2007 trough at Rs 978 and then June 2006 trough at Rs 765. However the stock is quite likely to form a long-term trough in the band between Rs 900 and Rs 1,100.

There is a possibility of this scrip coming down to tripple digit mark in the near term during this bear season despite its strong projected growth....

Though the long term business is on growth path, the scrip may not attract buyers at these prices during this bearish season.... if the scrip falls to tripple digit mark,it could be right oppurtunity for the long term investors to look in.... the reduced expenditure on capital goods by corporates is negative for this counter.... the recent iip numbers too keep pressure on this counter....

Dear mr.venkat c,
BHEL will give you a good reply for your anxious remarks today. Be ready to face it or run away with your cheque book. For Asian markets will pick up the strong signals from the west to drive the bears away. You may not enter the Indian Market to pick any share particularly BHEL,L&T,SBI,RIL,BHARATI etc. The winds are very favourable to the market to post new heights. Please be ready.

bhel has a book value of 220 with outstanding orders of 85,000 cr. i think u do not deal in valuations otherwise the valuation of BHEL would come to over 600 without outstanding orders. i think it is grt stk to add to ur portfolio now....

dear GCS,
lot of stocks are available at quite attractive valuation and if selected well can give vey good returns.
i like infrastructure (although its capital intensive in nature so might see some more dowside but for long term its good buy), also look for the sectors which will be benefical due to falling commodity prices.
while slecting the stock also take care that the growth prospect of the company is there in coming years,
some of the stocks u can consider are:
Larsen and Toubro
alstom projects
bhel
idfc
reliance
reliance infra
hdfc
suzlon
maruti
SBI
also if u could take the risk , take exposure to reality once it fall further 20-30 percent. as i think post diwali realty companiess will fall further
in mid and small cap (but u have to wait for 3 years for the decent return and also consider buying it once all the signals of market bottoming appears as till then there wont be much upside to them)
elgi equipment
gayatri projects
shanthi gears
ashok leyland
thermax
u could also average out some of the existing stocks like petronet lng

Hi
Given the market is mostly going down and the prevailing high negative sentiment ,I think it is the best time to invest!?If I have an investment horizon of say 3-5 years, which are the best picks now?My disposable cash is say around 1-1.5 lacs..
I have few stocks now primarily invested through IPO and the portfolio contains:ONGC(45),GAIL(48-before bonus),Bank of Mahrarashtra(100),IDBI(160),PETRONET(100),Polaris(300)and added 15 RIL yesterday@1675!
Any pointers would be appreciated...Any way i have invested in MF`s also:approx 4 Lac and showing a -ve return of 13% while the stock portfolio as above shows a +ve return of 14%
Thanks and Regards
GCS
