Revenue in the Q1 grew by 33% and export sales increased by 279%. But in spite of 32.75% increase in sale[170cr instead of 226cr], Alembic Ltd posted net loss of 4.7 crore in the same quarter as compared to previous year's NP of 17.7cr. [difference of 23.4cr over same period last year -128% loss in PAT; -131% loss in PBT -24% in OP, -28% in GP]

Formulation in domestic market posted negative growth [-32%]; export positive growth [52%].

Reasons sited by the company are
1. restructuring in the work force at the domestic level thereby transient disruption in the local marketing.
2. forex loss as compared to forex earning in the previous year. ? 10.49 cr of forex loss.

But the debt has also increased to 423cr, resulting in higher interest burden 35cr yearly. In addition amortization of the intangible assets practice has been changed, which has probably diluted the loss by reducing the depreciation by 8-9 cr, if I understand it properly.
Q2 result should reflect a clearer picture.

Yes this is right that Alembic doesnot own any land at banglore,BUT IS ALEMBIC GLASS INDUSTRIES LTD. OR SHRENO HOLD IT..............?...

Alembic is trading at its long term support level for last 2 months. Investors have a great opportunity to pick at these levels and exit around 60 level within 2-3 months....
