Exercise to Survive

The standard weapons in the fight against Cancer -surgery,chemo,and radiation may soon be joined by something far simpler:Exercise.

Its a proved fact that regular exercise helps reduce the risk of recurrence of Cancer, and slows the advance of some Cancers.

In a few years ,exercise will probably be prescribed regularly for Cancer Rehab and Personal Trainers may join Oncologists,Surgeons and Radiologists as members of the Cancer -treatment team.

NSG waiver and our parties

Posted by : gv

Hi,
It is a good day we got this in spite of opposition mainly China
The Americans pushed it hard and literally bulldozed
We are the only country to have waiver
with out signing CTBT
We have some different views on this Here from BJP,Left etc
One important Question for the left
Why China was opposing the deal?
Is it because they saw merit in the left
Argument it is not good for India?
One need not be a genius to understand this
It is better to have better relations with USA and western power,be part of the countries which have archived big economic progress, democracy,People liberty values etc
Why we need to get Isolated in the world and worry about China and to some extent PAK
The Policy of Non Alignment is no longer valid today, may be ok during cold war days
In a Unipolar world it serves India best to be with US,West,Russia
US literally demonstrated the push they have in International forums,
Why the left is for Isolation from very advanced countries,For what reason?
What benefits to the people?
We have seen 60s 70s and the policy we followed and the difficult times people have to go through
I have said earlier we can distribute wealth only if we have it,govt can spend money on social uplift only it is able to Tax
But if the people get poorer and poorer
Who is going to pay tax?and how govt going to fund the programme for the poor, education, health etc
The left policies is like putting green leaves in front of the horse so that horse can dream of getting the leaves and move forward
I have some questions for CPM
Why Karat is not seen giving support for Buddha for Nano land deal?
Bihar and Assam flood-- Karats Did they visit?
The Bihar problem in not new and in the last 4/5 years happening
Did the left brought this issue and solution in parliament?
30 lac people were affected, what about comrade of the poor doing?
Karats are in the issues, when they can hog the media attention
When Pak made misadventure on Kargil and or terror camps in PAK,did our CPM approach thru back door diplomacy with China to Rein Pak?
How many of the guys went jail during emergency?
We can go long on the list of Hippocratic CPM
But The BJP also did not act on national interest
The statements made by Yashwant sinha does not make any sense
Brijesh says the deal is good he is not a politician
It would be very much appreciated if Sinha travels to the flood affected Bihar and help the poor people rather talking to the press

Jagdish Ji,

You are right. USA stretegy was to keep the warfield far way from home as possible. Careful to see, at any cost, that they have full security for their area - say 4000 miles radius around the country. Like they raised the fort of vantage points to contain communism and prevent it from reaching their country. Now they feel insecure as, as you say, mafia has infiltrated in every pocket and they call the shots.

During world war II, as was the case with previous word war I, many countries became allies and many others enemies (axis). There were so many regulations – ban on trade with enemy country etc. this was official. But actually trade did take place.

In the European countries as well as in the USA, jews controlled Business and their relationship crossed international boundaries. They were not terribly bothered about the official regulations or bans. They had a way of executing business even with forbidden countries. Similarly mafia entrenched in one country has friendly relationship throughout the world .

arq _s,It had always been the strtegy of US to creat disturbance in two neighbours n enjoy the fruit by selling arms directly n indirectly n both fight with the arms supplied by USA
But now USA too is on radar of terrorists n thats why they are pressurising pak to have their air base,in fact they had long back
Now its the fight n control over oil
But the irony is,they had failed every where stretegically coz of strong congress
They failed in vietnam,korea,iran-iraq n afghanistan, coz they could not get osama
but their economy runs n runs on sale of arms
USA cant avoid heat in their own country too coz international mafia have deep roots every where in the world now n they are the most educated ppl in the world

As many as 400 Indian and foreign firms are seen as the beneficiaries of the far-reaching verdict in Vienna on Saturday where the 45-member Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) decided to resume civilian nuclear commerce with India.

India\'s apex industry bodies, which have hailed the decision, also feel that the country can now attract over $40 billion in foreign investment over the next 10-15 years as the result of private sector entry into India\'s nuclear power generation.

Ruling Pakistan People's Party chief Asif Ali Zardari was on Saturday elected Pakistan's new President, securing a landslide victory in the elections.

As PPP lawmakers and workers shouted slogans like "Jeay Bhutto" (long live Bhutto) and "Zinda hai Bibi, zinda hai" (Benazir Bhutto is alive), Chief Election Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Farooq announced that Zardari had secured 281 of the 436 votes cast by the two houses of parliament.

According to the unofficial result declared by Farooq, Zardari's rivals lagged far behind - PML-N candidate Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddique bagged 111 votes while opposition PML-Q leader Mushahid Hussain Sayed secured 34.

Ten votes were declared invalid. The electoral college for the presidential poll comprises the Senate and National Assembly, the two houses of parliament, and the four provincial assemblies. Zardari also swept polling in the assemblies of North West Frontier Province, Sindh and Balochistan.

The 53-year-old widower of slain former premier Benazir Bhutto secured 107 votes in the 124-member NWFP assembly. Siddiqui bagged 10 votes while Sayed got only three votes. Four votes were rejected.

In the 65-member Balochistan assembly, Zardari secured 59 votes while Siddiqui and Sayed bagged two each. In the 168-strong Sindh assembly, Zardari secured 162 votes.

Counting was still underway in the Punjab assembly, where Sharif's party commands a majority.

Each vote in the two houses of parliament has a value of one, while the weightage of votes in the provincial assemblies is calculated with a complicated formula. For example, the 107 votes polled by Zardari in the NWFP assembly will have a weightage of 56 votes.

Zardari's daughters Bakhtawar and Asifa were among those who watched the counting of votes in parliament. When the result was declared, they shouted slogans along with PPP workers while Bakhtawar waved a portrait of Benazir Bhutto.

PPP workers broke into jubilation in streets of cities like Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.

The presidential election was necessitated by the resignation last month of former President Pervez Musharraf, who stepped down to avoid impeachment by the PPP-led coalition.

A week after his resignation, the PML-N pulled out of the alliance after accusing Zardari of reneging on promises to restore judges deposed during last year's emergency and to field a non-partisan candidate for the presidential polls.

The Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) on Saturday granted India a crucial waiver that will enable it to carry out nuclear commerce, ending 34 years of isolation enforced in the wake of the 1974 Pokharan nuclear tests.

The unprecedented decision of the 45-nation nuclear cartel giving exemption to a country which has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) is a landmark step in the implementation of the Indo-US nuclear deal that will now go to the US Congress for approval.

\"After protracted negotiations, the NSG today adopted an exemption for nuclear exports to India,\" the Austrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

\"There is a sense of relief. I am particularly happy that the waiver (for India) meets with international nuclear non-proliferation architecture,\" Peter Launsky, Austrian foreign ministry spokesman said after an unscheduled meeting of the NSG here.

Austria, along with Ireland, New Zealand and Switzerland had expressed strong reservations over the waiver being given to India that forced the grouping to have an unscheduled meeting on Saturday after two days of deliberations failed to produce a consensus.
