you are right RN,
If we gap up and showed some stregth till the european markets open then we may see a surge, may be at the end of the day or tomorrow we can buy PUTS.
One interesting stock could be Bajaj Hindustan ( If played with COVERED Call strategies people can make money in this counter , Because on friday the prices fallen by 22 % and the open interest fallen by 31 %, These suggesting this stock stabilizing at these levels and become stronger. )
I have updated the Covered call strategies for LT and BAJAJ Hindustan in my Homepage. Patience investors can try that.

Coordinated plans on bank crisis should work, IMF head says
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Leading economies now have coordinated, detailed and comprehensive plans to resolve the severe credit crisis that has put the financial system on the brink of a meltdown, said Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the International Monetary Fund. Speaking at a press conference Sunday following two days of intense talks on two continents, Strauss-Kahn said almost all of the affected nations now have taken strong actions to shore up their financial sectors. He said moves by the euro zone leaders in Paris were "exactly the type of action" that is needed to reassure very jittery markets. "We will see tomorrow" what the market reaction is, but "I am confident," he said.

We have been listening indian growth stories for few years.... our financial markets too witnessed the same trend till recently.... our policy makers repeatedly assuring the investors about the strongness of indian economy.... they are saying india is immune to world financial crisis....
But indian financial markets too collapsing along with the global cues.... almost all investors and many corporates are already in deep troubles.... few are doubting at some pvt sector banks for their suspicious behaviour....
We are also part of globe, india is not from any other planet.... this common logic is ignored by our policy makers and talking nonsenses on daily basis to confuse/mislead the indian investors aswell as indian public....
Atleast the chiefs of global economy taking few steps to control the situation,we havnot seen any types of mesures or useful decisions so far in india.... already stock markets fell more than 50% from their peaks within few months.... banks are struggling for survival, many corporates facing liquidty problem, few companies at the threshold of removing employees from payrolls, experts epecting subprime type issues may occur soon in india too.... interestingly indian rupee is weaken much within short span of time....
By seeing/experiencing all these ill effects, even patriotic indians doubting about the situation of economy in the country.... few people asking questions like Is indian economy too collapsing?!
Dear Bull 2008
Thanks for your pragmatic view i do endorese the same ,but i have great confidence in the trio of indian economics i.e.Manmohan Singh,P Chitambaram and Montek singh i am sure they would do good to Indian economics....

Dear investor11
The liquidity has been almost completely squeezed from the global markets and the respective governments are trying to inject liquidity artificially. This may have a cascading effects and severe consequences if they fail to regain confidence and growth in the economies.
These are temporary measure and are taken in a panic situation and some of these economies have crossed the debts to GDP ratios and any further infusion of liquidity may tumble the whole economy it self.
India is in a better shape but will scum to these global pressure in the initial phase as liquidity will be squeezed out from here by the FII’s. If India still remain on the growth path and sail this tide of global melt down equity will show improvement significantly.
But the situation is very tricky and painful and one should prepare for the worse or can be washed out.

Indian banking system stable: India central bank governor
NEW DELHI, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Indian banking system is stable and sound, safe from the fallout of the ongoing global financial turmoil, the Indian Express quoted Duvvuri Subbarao, Governor of India`s central bank the Reserve Bank of India as saying Sunday.
Subbarao ruled out any direct impact of the global crisis on the Indian financial system and termed the developments in the market as an "indirect, knock-on effect of the global financial situation".
The RBI Governor said deposits in Indian banks are safe and there are no reasons for anxiety or uncertainty.
"Our forex and money markets have been functioning in an orderly manner," he told a news conference in Washington Friday.
Indian banks are not directly exposed to sub-prime mortgages, he added. The banking sector, through its overseas branches, has some exposure to distressed financial instruments and troubled financial institutions.
"But this exposure is part of the normal course of their business and is quite small relative to the size of their overall business," Subbarao said.
"RBI has taken action to inject liquidity into the system. We are monitoring the situation on a continuous basis, and stand ready to take appropriate, effective and swift action," he said.
Subbarao also said that managing inflation while maintaining growth momentum and financial stability were the immediate short-term priorities of the Indian central bank.

Yes,in bear markets, intelligent investors concentrate on dividend pay outs.... buying stocks which have huge dividend record is defintely better idea in this situation.... but stick to quality grwoth oriented business models.... there may be few corporates sell their shares and pay the dividends.... be careful in selecting counters on the basis of dividend criteria....

Sriman,
This slide has even caught WARREN unawares so lets excuse Udayan. Neither TA nor FA is playing out. Only fear. Fear is essentially vata state so the energy in fear will be expended fast since vata goes towards the state of disorganized very very quickly... vata constitution always tends to expend everything at their disposal quickly. Then markets will consolidate which will be kapha.. kapha stands for potential energy while vata stands for kinetic energy. Potential energy afer sometime has to find expression and u will see pitta taking over doing the work of building investor`s wealth. When markets become a hot air bubble then they burst of course... so the cycle goes on. Until you see kapha over and done with you can keep buying.

Dear marketman
The big game has already been played in the world markets. At the end of the game no one know who were the winners and the losser. Are the small investors the lossers those who got wipped out or big FII who threw money in the markets and may have lost two third of their value.
The markets taught world its bitter lesson in 1930 and history will remember this one as the chapter II in this series.

Dear novice, the stock markets collapsed/crashed more than 50% within few months.... analysts have been telling us at diiferent stages as fair valued levels.... if felt 10000 is fair level, somebody talke 9000 and few otheres tell 8000 and so on like that.... now people are not caring health of markets, worrying about the welath of them.... many investors lost more than 90% investment in stock markets in recent times.... finally now,all the hopes are given up and specailists telling the poor fundamentals ahead with bad corporate performance in coming terms.... that is a cause of worry here...

I do not think so IIP no may be an abberartion
Falling crude
Decrease inflation
Gov and RBI swift action to improve liquidity in system
P note norms revision
India US nuclear deal
All these factors would have positive impact on market sooner rather than later
GDP of 8 % would maintain, developed economy are facing severe problem more so in US hence we have retracted almost 50% in my opinion we rae over done should have good result soon.

Hi RN,
Your message is little confusing. Initially i thought there is some real bad news about JP Hydro.. but now it turned to be that you are just complimenting udayan`s views with out your own opinion. Hum..!
Anyways, thanks for your quick reply. It is useful. Thanks again.
bty.. I have dabur pharma in my PF. The next day after the take over or after open offer, Udayan said in one of his columns "I will not sell below 100, If I were you". He may be true but I didn`t realize that he didn`t give any time frame.
Regards,
Sri

I think the best way to invest in nifty is buy NIFTY BEES, we can buy 1 unit too.. any disadvantages you are aware of in such an instrument? Do share ur views on nifty bees..
