Goldman Sachs now sees loss of 400,000 jobs in Nov

NEW YORK: Goldman Sachs has revised up its forecast for US job losses in November to 400,000 after reports showing a dismal employment picture in the private sector, particularly in services.

The analysts at Goldman had previously forecast a decline of 350,000 jobs. The median estimate in a poll conducted on Friday was -320,000.

The Institute for Supply Management`s non-manufacturing survey fell to a record low, as did its employment index.

"Most reports on employment conditions in November have shown additional weakness relative to earlier months, but today`s ISM report on conditions outside manufacturing was particularly noteworthy," said Goldman economists in a research note.

"The employment index from this report, which has predictive power for payrolls in the top-down models we have developed, fell more than 10 points from a level that was already the lowest on record for this indicator."

The report also cited weakness in small and medium-sized firms as potentially compounding the pain in the labor market.

Do you mean to say our soldiers are use and throw `commodity` ?
Remember military rule in Pakistan has always taken its toll on greats of politicians.
Democracy always needs politicians who need to place their reliance on soldiers, on whose sacrifice the nation thrives.
Thanks.

All our tax money is going to MAYWATI who hates brahmins and she is worth now 100 crores.

Shame on MAYWATI to have this kind of networth in her personal kitty when our soliders dont even have protective gear when they are in the line of fire.

In what could have given added teeth to the terror fighting mechanism in the country besides making more trained personnel available for security of the common man, a 2003 decision of the MHA to replace the elite National Security Guard (NSG) guarding VIPs with CISF personnel seems to have been gathering dust. The rationale for the decision was to make the NSG available as a counter terrorism force-the purpose for which it was raised-rather than guarding VIPs.

MHA sources said that post the Kargil intrusions, a group of Ministers in fact had suggested deploying CISF personnel instead of NSG commandoes for VIP security. CISF personnel were even provided specialized training in proximate security for the purpose.

However, the NSG that eventually cleared the terrorists from various locations that had been taken over by them continue to serve in VIP duty. Central to the argument to withdraw the NSG from VIP security was also the consideration that the force`s training as a counter terrorism force was being underutilized.

The country has a dedicated security wing, the Special Protection Group (SPG) that has been raised for according security to VIPs. The events in Mumbai suggested that the reaction time of the NSG could have been quicker had more personnel been available in locations other than Palam.

Dear ashalanshu

The purpose of forming this group in 1984 was to fight terrorism. Will the govt come up with a white paper on the issue and tell us why only the politican are so important for the country so much so that the whole purpose of forming an anti terrorist group was ignored.

Dear Rose, What should all of us say about our politicians?

The less we talk about these nonsensitive people, it`s better for ourselves. I`m not sure if BHAGWAN/GOD/ALLAH/WAHEGURU is doing something or it`s mere conincidence that after the Mumbai Attack, all of sudden Politicians across party lines r putting their foot in mouth.

Sample this -
Congress - Vilas Rao - What a big issue if my son & RGV r visiting TAJ Hotal as tourist.
NCP - R R Patil - These smal incidents do happen in a big city like Mumbai
BJP - Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi - Some 10-15 women wearing Jeans & tops with Lipstick & powder on their face, what they want to prove? It`s a conspiracy against Democracy.

& Finnaly
Communist - V S Achutanandan - (I`m not going to produce those rubbish words here again to disturb the soul of our MARTYR - Sandeep)

Already the anger against politicians was on a high during & after MUMBAI attack & all of sudden these politicians - - - - - -

may be BHAGWAN also wants to teach a lesson to all these politicians.

Thanks

The Special Protection Group (SPG) is the executive protection agency of the government of India. It is responsible for the protection of the Prime Minister of India, other top officials, and their immediate families. The force was established in 1985 after the assassination of Indira Gandhi. It is one of many Indian law enforcement agencies.

The work of the Special Protection Group was more organised after the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi on May 21, 1991, (who was, at that time, not under SPG cover since his term as Prime Minister had ended). After the Rajiv Gandhi assassination there have been no successful attempts to attack the Prime Minister or the Prime Minister`s family members.

The Special Protection Group has about 3,000 personnel. Recruits are drawn from police forces as well as National Security Guards commandos, who undergo training similar to that conducted by the United States Secret Service. The officer cadre is mainly Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from various state/central cadres.

I think they are two different security departments on two different lines lines. One is SPG or Specaial Protection Group which takes care of these politicains and their family members and another is National Security Gauards of NSG which are meant for ensuring security of the country under the circumstnces. Probably you were mentioning the first one.Somebody may clarify if this is wrong. Thank you.

why single her out for she is a newbie in this field.

The gowdas, the pawars and the mulayam yadavs et al have several times more wealth than she has and so do some of the congress and bjp leaders. Comparatively only and surprisingly the communists barring jyoti basu are clean. basu is but not his son reportedly.

why forget that narasimha raos family had declared over 700crores during the blackmoney decln amnesty to make it white. When chairmen of banks can amass in crores is it surprising that their political masters beat them hands down in this game of minting money.

Earlier too it was there but an insignificant percentage of politicians indulged in it and it was also confined to a normal brokerage percent 1 or 2. Now it is more than 10times that
and clean politicians are a novelty item. Judges too were corrupt even in those days also but again it was insignificant percentage wise. I know this bec my father had paid on behalf of his boss bribe money to one of the top lawyer at that time for passing it on to a mumbai court judge....

Dear friends, I`m really angry from the core of my heart for indian media & all fellow boarders who r praising NSG (National Security Guards) commandos for their heroic efforts to save all the 3 Terrorist targets.

As far as I know - There is no such agency in india named as National Security Guards (NSG).

Yes there is an agency in india stationed at MANESAR in Haryana but IT`s name is -

POLITICIAN SECURITY GUARDS (PSG) & not the NSG which all of u r posting wrongly.

Puzzled sample this -

TOTAL COMMANDOS OF PSG = 4500
No. of PSG Commandos deployed for their primary duty (i.e. provoding security to our politicians) = 3500
No. of Commandos made available by our politicians for such Terror attacks = 500 only
No. of comandos made available by our politicians to use in case of Plane Hi Jack = 500

Now sample this list of Politicians who r employer of these 3500 commandos -
1. P. M. Manmohan Singh
2. Soniya Gandhi
3. Rahul Gandhi
4. Priyanka Gandhi with her family
5. Mayawati
6. L. K. Advani
7. Narendra Modi
8. Mulayam Singh Yadav
9. Tarun Gogoi (C.M. of ASSAM if some of u r unaware)
10. Rajnath Singh
11. M. Karunanidhi
12. Maninderjeet Singh Bitta

There r 8 more names to this elite list of Super politcians, which I`m unable to produce.

Now all of u people should decide Its the Commandos of PSG (Politicians Security Guards) or NSG who saved Mumbai from Terrorist.

Disclaimer - Above data is sourced from a news channel so boarder community is advised to believe it on their own risk & I (ashalanshu) should not be held responsible if there r more than 20 policticians who r enjoying these commandos or total no. of coomandos employed for politicians security is more than 3500.

Thanks

The greatest tribute the slain martyrs can be paid is to defeat terrorism. Unfortunately that is sadly in the hands of our rotten politicians.

Inspite of Times Of India carrying on a daily crusade against the illegal king of Mumbai docks.. Mohammed Ali.. he is roaming freely and without a care and carrying on his clandestine affairs on Dawooods behalf and even some of the central security forces are fed up with the kidglove treatment he is getting. Why? MONEY OF COURSE FOR THE POLITICIANS TO STASH AWAY IN SWISS BANKS. May they ROT IN HELL....

Dear librawala, For ur kind Info, there is already an specialist force in India with the purpose of providing security cover for politicians.

It`s named as SPG - Special Protection Group.

All the politicians who r enjoying the services of PSG commandos r by default getting this SPG cover also under Z or Z+ category. Whatever the category is I don`t care. I know only one thing these parasites r making their life secure & exposing to all of us for threat to our life.

Thanks

The 10 terrorists who wreaked mayhem in Mumbai last week had chains with cyanide pills around their necks to kill themselves if they were caught by the police.
During their one-year militant training, their bosses kept telling them: “Bite this pill if the police ever corner you during your mission.” This, the terrorists were told, would kill them, paving their way “straight to heaven”.

This was revealed by Mohammad Ajmal Mohammad Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist to be arrested, during interrogation.

If cornered by the police, they were to bite the pill, bringing them death in 15 minutes. They were told this would bring police investigations to a dead end and their “brothers” could continue their “holy fight”, Kasab said. Senior police officers said this was typical of Al-Qaeda activists.

The terrorists were warned not to reveal about the others in the group or the training camps if they were caught. Police suspect Kasab’s chain fell off when he was assaulted by a mob after he was overpowered by the police.

The police plan to check the bodies of the nine other terrorists kept in the mortuary at JJ Hospital.

Police officials interrogating Kasab over the last week described him as “moody” who often “rants”. He is not revealing much and is silent when asked about the terror camps, a senior officer said....

Traffic lights? Almost all local drivers here can`t drive. They all misuse the car horn like a 2 year old using the drum. There are no horn zone in residential areas, no speed bumps, no restrictions on tail gating and no penalty if you give something to one lonely or often rare traffic cop. India has just about the right traffic system it deserves for its people. Hey, at least in 50 years they got all the the cows out of the main streets at least in big towns!!...
