What is without risk? Nothing!!!.
If you say that hydropower is clean or risk free, then think what would happen if one of the big dams were targetted by the terrorists.
The havoc would outdo any Chernobyl like disater or if it were to be damaged in an earthquake, not to mention the long term ecological damage
brought about by dams.
Like I said Nuclear fission is a medium term stop gap till we source other forms of energy which are truly clean & safe.

We have no oil or gas to cater to our long term energy needs.
The much taked about 'Carbon capture technology' for getting clean energy from coal is a pipe dream & will be confined to smaller projects. It envisages storing liquid CO2 in underground facilities.
How feasible is that on a large scale.

We have to traverse this path of nuclear adolosence on our long term goal to clean & safe energy....

Who led us in the Pokhran testing?It was our own technology and likewise it can go on in power generation also using nuclear fuel of our own.Even a portion fo the commission coming out of this deal from companies which supply nuclear reactors can be used for research and we can achieve success in thorium enrichment technology and our BHEL like companies can supply nuclear reactors and avoid paying 6 lac crores to ROLLS ROYCE and others who have reopened their factories only to supply nuclear reactors to INDIA ...

hi,in the wake of the new developments wat will be the impact on our bourses? i feel tomarrow sensex can move up by 500 to 900 points becos it can create a lot of jobs in the near future and fresh investment of billions of dollars.i dream in the next 100 years india will change 80% vehicles to electric then the polution will be less than today.it is rediculous in the part of left front opposing this landmark treaty....
