For those who see gloom in theie Bombay Dyeing Investement feel relieved to read this:
Reproduced below the views of Rajen Shah, CIO, Angel Broking expressed on CNBC on the 10th:
Quote
On Bombay Dyeing:
Bombay Dyeing owns about 80 acres of property in Bombay, a prime property that is being valued at an enterprise value of about Rs 2,200 crore. So it is a great opportunity you just need to buy these companies, stop listening to all these bearish talks on the markets. Because I have been in the market for the past 20 years and what I have learnt over the past 20 years is that these are the times, when you really need to take good calls and just be patient may be three- six months are going to be little difficult because the markets may not move up at all or may be stagnant.
Unquote:
One Boarder was mentioning that 60 Acres is less:look at the valuation of this land (2400Crores) and for a company with a relatively low Equity Base (3.8 Crore Shares of Rs10/ each) the land valution alone works out works out to Rs 600Plus. And, the company wants to cash out the Residential part of it and the commecial part will be owned by them ensuring a steady cash flow.
So lot to gain:dont feel depressed

Please have hope to get back the money in a year or two. But don`t put more in this scrip in the name of averaging the total cost.
That will be a great mistake as the difference is huge.
Place the surplus you have in gold or in FD with a bank. wish you all the best. As you are new to the board, I am replying you just to give some consolation. Bye.

US to take stake in banks, first since Depression
WASHINGTON: The US government will buy an ownership stake in a broad array of American banks for the first time since the Great Depression, Treasury
Secretary Henry Paulson said late on Friday, announcing the historic step after stock markets jolted still lower around the world despite all efforts to slow the selling stampede.
Separately, the US and the globe`s other industrial powers pledged to take "decisive action and use all available tools" to prevent a worldwide economic catastrophe.
"This is a period like none of us has ever seen before," declared Paulson at a rare Friday night news conference. He said the government programme to purchase stock in private US financial firms will be open to a broad array of institutions, including banks, in an effort to help them raise desperately needed money.
Do they want to have controlled econonomy through banks? already Iceland hs initiated. UK is said tobe considering to go on the line, perhaps after the G-7 meet.

heavy discount sale of abc india

abc india company is currently available for sale at total market cap of just rs 12.5 crores only which has got reputed brand of 35 years having more than 200 branches all over india and having landed real estate properties assets plant and machineries own petrol pumps of estimated valuation more than rs 200 crores having current book value more than rs 57 per share and revaluated book value estimated at rs 400 per share
this is the best time to acquire this company by reputed multinational or domestic transport and logistic company it is fact that NISSIN JAPAN one of world largest transport & logistic company are having one joint vanture company with abc india ltd name NISSIN ABC LOGISTIC PVT LTD NOIDA as per my view management of abc india should dispose off abc india to NISSIN CORPORATION JAPAN and they should take the management of this company as i and my family member holding 7% equity of abc india as on date for more than 5 years have felt that present management of abc india are totally failure to increse shareholders value and wealth the management of abc india should initiate action to talk to NISSIN i think if such proposal/deal is given to NISSIN they will gladly accept it considering the bright future prospects of transport and logistic sector in india
this action from management will benifit various shareholders and employee shareholders of abc india these are my personal views lot of employee shareholders who got allotment of abc india shares at price of rs 55 per share under ESOP scheme last year must be worrying for their share valuations
i again insist both chairman and managing director of abc india to call for fresh shareholders meet since both of them have not attended last agm held on 4.9.2008 and should immidiately consider proposal of stock split bonus shares interim dividend and demerger of abc india in to two companies and should think regarding my view in respect of NISSIN CORPORATION JAPAN since abc india are already having joint vanture with them ...

Agreed to your view.
Now i have the answer of your ruppe argument. Oil prices are around $77.7
This is going to help rupee and also inflation.
Investors have not burnt anything they still have the same amount of stocks.
It is the Punters and traders like you have lost money in the market.
I still have many shares and I am maintaining it for a longer term.
If start trading then you will make money only for your broker not for your self.
I have written this after analysing that you are from trading camp.
Cheers

You got the massa-gee, that`s important.. rest I AM SURE U can manage the tungs & the slips of your mother`s tounge or the slips, the I`s & T`s & , everything since you are beter equipped & better placed.
I am sure U R interpreting the mass-agees correctly. I just thought otherwise, since you seem to me a `bookish type` & may not understand my under stated `spritual` feelings.
Rest is fine, keep doing what U R doing, as xplained to U above.
Bless you my child.. thank god .. you know not what you are reading.
Happy investing.. concentrate on the mkt, which IS OUR PRIMARY AIM .. THE I`s & T`s can be managed later on.

Dear nodik,
Again you read it wrongly... I am not ordering you to read the book... Its a good book, please try to find a copy of the same and read it... you would be surprised... I was, when I read it around seven years back.
Regarding my mother tongue [again I`m not sure from where its coming], I have my own plans in place. I want to read the full composition of Sharat Chandra Chatterjee and that too in Bangla.... but yes, this is not happening now... probably once I turn 40 or something...
Are you also interested in books?
regards,
Sourav.
PS: By the way, the spelling of "tongue" as you have in your message in the bracket needs to be corrected... "tounge" is not the right spelling... but yes, these are minor mistakes :-)) Did you enjoy Durga Puja? Bijoya`r Subhecha janai...

TCS will sign the contract for starting the Passport Seva project, a public-private initiative to improve passport services in India.
The formal contract will be signed on October 13 by Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon and TCS chief executive officer and managing director, S Ramadorai.
The techno-commercial evaluation of the bids then zeroed in on TCS as the "best value bidder".
In return for better services, the private service provider will charge a fee of about Rs 200 for each transaction.
Within eight years, the number of passports issued has nearly tripled from 2.2 million in 2000 to six million in 2008.
The contract is estimated to be worth Rs 10-15 billion for TCS.

There are many people who have lobied for creating rumours on ICICI Bank.
I am personally aware about the ICICI postion. Position is that bad.
There is liquidity problem with all the banks since FIIS have withdrawn lot of money from INDIA market in quick time and even when thier as the tightest liqidity measure in the country.
Ther is a concern of NPA but this concern is with everybank wheather it is HDFC, Axis or any other PSU or private bank.
I think this liquidity problem will get resolve very soon since we are seeing a softening in oil prices as well as inflation rate.
There has been a lot of softwning in Industrial commodities as well loke metal, coal etc.
